Game objectives

  • Emulator used: BizHawk 2.6.1
  • Attempts to get to the credits cutscene as quickly as possible

Comments

This TAS takes advantage of a built-in warp menu known as "Chapters" instead of slogging through the hour and a half (!!) of CGI videos that are tedious to skip. Unfortunately the menus are super laggy so it still takes quite a while. There's also a "Credits" option on the main menu but this just brings you to the credits for the port, not the actual credits.

I've never seen Shrek, so thanks for spoiling that Donkey is strangled to death at the end of the movie. In retaliation for just how angry I am at this, I am rejecting this run and you're not even getting a "Hello and welcome to TASvideos!" out of it >:c And sure that's entirely because you've been involved with the community for a very long time so a welcome is not necessary but I have to have an iron fist about SOMETHING!!!

This is exactly what mGBA was made for, it has finally reached its purpose that VBA could not do, to be able to TAS Shrek the movie on GBA Video.

That feeling when the logos take more time than the... er, "gameplay". Side note, I wonder if this was inspired by the recent AVGN episode.

That's a decent joke. It even accomplishes what it claims to. Level-select cheat codes are generally banned. Choosing the latest level when it requires no cheat is not always (see: Wario's Woods vs. Com). The question then becomes: Do earlier chapters provide interesting TASing opportunities? I very much doubt it.

Games are basically math with a visual representation of this math, that's why I make the scripts, to re-see games as math. My things: YouTube, GitHub, Pastebin, Twitter

This TAS has been "console verified" (though every input had to be delayed by 2+ frames to sync and the first one had to be delayed 7 frames): Link to video
