Is it possible for me to convert a .ZMV file to a traditional movie file? [Edit by Bisqwit: Changed the title more descriptive and moved to the proper forum]

If you mean to a .smv, yes it is technically possible. But far more likely than not it will desync because of differences in the emulation. To my knowledge there are no .zmv to .smv converters for this reason.

I meant to a movie file such as .AVI, .MPEG, .WMV, etc.

Or since it is just about a 5 second recording, is there a program that will make a movie of what my comp screen is showing?

On another note, what should we call you? /*- had the same problem and now he's slashstardash. But calling you leftbracket-circumflex-underscore-circumflex-rightbracket might be a bit too much of a hassle. Mr. Japanesesmiley? Mr. Kaomoji? Mr. Happybrackets?

Great point, and good suggestions. I like Mr. Happybrackets the most.

What version of ZSnes is that because i just went to the site and there still isn't anything like that window shown. Or is there a plugin that i could download. Also I like Mr. Happybrackets the best, but you all could call me suik. It's all the same to me.

For questions about what version of ZSNES that is, you should read the whole thread, and ask such questions there.

The only way to do it would be with a screen recorder. However, every screen recorder I've tried makes the video all uneven like it skips 100 frames every second.

That's why screen recorders aren't allowed on this site. It skips/duplicates frames. Screen recorders have no idea what the actual emulation is. They can only capture its appearance.

In theory, someone could write a program that makes AVI movies from emulator movies and the appropriate ROM...but there isn't one yet--to my knowledge.

I wrote such a program, and it's ZSNES specific, and part of ZSNES, fancy that.

I wish I could Dump ZMV/SMV Files or whatever into AVIs but instead, I have to use Snagit8, the program I use to record Genesis Videos and Gameboy Videos from BGB and MUGEN Videos and Game Maker Footage, etc. I've been stuck with this crud for months!
