A TAS of Super Mario Bros. inside Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World.
I used the SMW version so that I can play all of them with one file...
I can't find this TAS on their channel, so submitted it.

I thik I uploaded non cut movie file. The time in the thread is not correct, it should be around 5:07 - 5:08

Unfortunately, I was able to find a faster run from three years ago (4-2 is one IGT unit faster, and a faster flagpole glitch only possible in the Japanese version is utilized to save time on every flagpole). As we only accept known records here, this run cannot be accepted. Remember that TASvideos doesn't hold every TAS and category: YouTube and Nicovideo in particular hold a staggering number of TASes that never even crossed the site's path, so when you check to see whether or not a TAS has been done, make sure you check every source, not just us.
I don't know why you showed a video using the version fo Super Mario All-Stars that does not include Super Mario World, even while the submitted movie was made with the version that does include SMW.
I also thought I heard a skidding sound in 1-1 or 4-1; did you slow down to avoid the fireworks?

I'm not overly familiar with SMB tasing, but there's an apparent time loss at 2:00 into the encode. Mario bonks into the elevator platform in 4-2. Had you taken a slightly different route prior to that bonk, you wouldn't have been slowed by it.
There is also a brief slowdown in 8-3 around 4:04 in the encode where you slow down to kill a hammer bros.
I know there are frame rules involved with SMB, so i don't know if either of these slowdowns cause loss of a frame rule. It does look sloppy and suboptimal though.
Also, regarding entertainment, I'm personally annoyed by all the constant unnecessary jumping in so many SMB TASes (this one included). This is simply a personal preference and not a complaint per se, but i figured I'd leave it here anyway.

Hi! The bonk in 4-2 actually sets up a trick called the wrong warp, and it is done by bonking or clipping into walls to push Mario to the right of the screen. Iirc the pace is accounted into 8-1 where it finally count the framerule. Idk is 3 bumps wrong warp optimal though.
In 8-3, a slowdown is needed in order to avoid ending the level with 3 on the ones digit of the timer which causes fireworks and waste time.

It was to manipulate Mario's x-position towards right so that I can perform a glitch called wrong Warp. It is necessary for saving time.DrD2k9 wrote:

I slowed because a 1, 3, or 6 in units place of the timer gives fireworks which waste time. I slowed to save several seconds.
Please explain how "SMB in Super Mario AllStars" is meaningfully distinct from the standard SMB on the NES, aside from the graphics. Are there particular glitches or strategies that work on this ROM but not on the NES one?

Its not possible to despawn any enemy like in SMB.
Bullet Bill Glitch at 8-2 is not doable.
1-2 warp zone can be done without scrolling the screen forward.
Not much but these are different from the original. And I submitted it because I've seen TASes of other All-Star titles being published.
There is a youtube video which claims a lower time 04:53.101 while not using L+R (being slower by technical goal choice)
