Seeing all thoses video made me wanna try to make a speed run for a SNES game. I was looking in my room which one i would make and i saw this game : Flashback. Of course they goal will be to be the fastest. I'd like to have some advise from experimented people on how to make a speed run since this one will be my first. And any hint on the game itself will be good too :D

Advice: Watch my run of the Genesis version. Note that you can't walk through walls like I can, so you'll have a lot more running around to do. Also check out my frame counts: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=452&highlight=

Since this run has been done on Genesis already (see http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=220 ), with an interesting bug that is not in the SNES version, I'd suggest trying some other game. It would just be a copy of that run, but without the glitchy walking trough walls.

Heh. Sorry to kill your motivation like that. But it would probably be worse if you made a run not knowing about that video, and your work would have very slim chances of being accepted because of it. Good luck on finding another game. We will be here to help you out when you decide on one. For starters, have you read the rules, guidelines, using emulator tools, and tips pages? They are all linked trough the FAQ.

Well i looked the video of genesis flashback, sure the wall glitch saves a looooot of time but for me using that glitch isn't really "fair". No offence to the author of the video, he surely work hard to make it, but i'm the type of person who doesn't like to cheat ^^ I haven't decide yet, which game i'll speedrunn have to check my "rom" folder :P Is there a speedrun about Prince of Persia SNES version ? I saw in this forum someone started one, is it finished ? About the guidlines etc, yeah i've read everything :D If you have any idea of a game you'd like to see, just tell me ><

Oh boy. You're asking for suggestions? Bad idea :D I don't remember how long ago, but someone made me discover a game called Whirlo. It's a pretty neat platformer and the physics with the moves seem like it would make it interesting.
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.

There are runs both for Genesis and NES versions. And SprintGod is making one for SNES, I think, even though I think that's a waste of time. Does it have to be SNES? There are a lot of Genesis games I'd like to see someone take a stab at.

Why not have one glitched version and one without glitches in Flashback? My opinion is that it would be like A Link to the Past wall-glitch vs. non glitch-version. I would rather see a full run of the game than one full of glitches.
