Gex 3: Deep Pocket Gecko is a pretty standard platformer for the Gameboy Color. In it you must collect 23 remotes from the various levels in order to reach and defeat the last boss.
This run is a major re-routing of the original, following the RTA record and suggested by andypanther. This is responsible for most of the time save.
A new trick used in this run is pausing out of a stage after collecting a remote, eliminating many end level cutscenes.
Aside from these two things, other small optimizations are made along the way. Most importantly the flies that give you power ups are used correctly. You can simply press select to eat a fly and activate its power, something mmbossman did not do in the original. Doing this saves several seconds worth of backtracking and waiting in the anime stage and a little in the hero stage.
This run is console verified, as in the temp encode.

This looks really good, just what I was hoping an improved TAS of this game could look like. I'm glad you were able to put the new discoveries to good use, credit really should go to the RTA record holder KAJ here. What I did was talking to him to understand the game myself and then go over the whole route again, before eventually compiling it for the forum post I made. So the remote collection route should now be optimal and all the currently known tricks are used as well. Potential improvements at this point would just be to find better movement here and there. Going with a "yes" here, it's finally tail time again on TASVideos!
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Since you re-worked pretty much everything, wouldn't make more sense to put only your name as author of this movie?
my personal page - my YouTube channel - my GitHub - my Discord: thunderaxe31 <Masterjun> if you look at the "NES" in a weird angle, it actually clearly says "GBA"

Large sections of input are the same as mmbossman's original (which were also surprisingly well optimized given the age of the TAS.)
