Power Rangers - Time Force is a Game Boy Color game that sends the police force of the year 3001 on a mission to capture a group of rogue mutants/cyborgs/ghosts/whatever, led by Ransik, and escaped to various points in time. After a quick stop at Arby's, the rangers recruit a new red ranger from 2001, Wes, after their previous one got rekt lmao
While all five rangers are available to be chosen for any of the levels, this TAS will primarily follow Wes, and the yellow ranger, Katie. I like Katie. The two of them team up to absolutely obliterate and humiliate all of the game's eight levels, using the game's shoddy programming to zip by wall edges, score multiple hits per special attack, punch giant-sized enemies psychically, and literally damage boost off of enemies.
...This is the same company who brought us The Ninja Warriors Again, by the way. Really let yourselves go on this one, Nat'.
The ranger's "energy meter" is probably the most vital tool in speedrunning this game, as it allows you to use the three powerful special attacks each ranger has, executed by pressing up+A, down+A, and foward>forward+B respectively. When full, you can press Select to engage a high-speed turbo boost that'll send the ranger hurtling forward... well, you get the drill.
The red ranger is generally better at navigating levels, due to being able to use speed-boosting techniques more frequently. In fact, his forward special lunges him forward faster than by walking, making for a useful short burst of speed. The yellow ranger, on the other hand, possesses unrivaled damage output, making her actually better in levels with multiple or tanky bosses, such as in level 1, 3, and 4. She also happens to have a much better route through the maze-like final level.
feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Looks quite good, and much quicker than
the human record (even though it's not stellar). Restoring cycle count and accepting.
