I try to run this game now. Someone know it? I have play it as child and love the nice Dino. Looks so nice and sweet. Bad I have never complete this game, I think the last Boss was very hard and I never done it. Maybe with FrameAdvance I have more luck here. Begin first Funny Field (J), but this is boring I think, so I will maybe first finish this one here. Not sure if I can finish it, but I try. The first part is done, Stage 8 finish and all looks great I think. Or know someone improvements for me? Or any Tricks or Glitches? Boomer's Adventure in Asmik World - Movie Stage 9 done EDIT: Rerecord the Boss now. Dig the wrong side, so its now faster and looks much better and faster. Throw as soon as possible by the last 2 bones.

I had this game back in the day. There was one level where it seemed to be impossible to get the key. This game might be kinda long, you have to do all the levels twice, once going each way. I'll be watching this when I get a chance.

I have no idea, was a long time ago, that I play it as child. I have sold it, because I never beat the last Boss. But I think I found every Key. But I know, that I must go up and down again, and I am sure I only have problems with the last Boss. Sometimes enemies dig out the keys and hide it somewhere else. So you must kill the enemie, which own the key or search at the new point where he hide it. I always test where the key is hide and the I record the movie. So it takes me not much rerecordings. Sometimes I test the fastest way too before recording. One funny thing, after a long time I found in one Stage the key. As I record the movie, the key was not there. So an enemie found it somewhere else and hide it there. And I must again search for the key. But was near the other location. :-) Here my new file: Boomer's Adventure Movie Stage 23 done Edit: One question: Does someone know what does the scarecrow in Stage 17 do? Seems, that I can't use it and I don't know anymore for what this was. Is this usefull or a bad item?

Does someone know what does the scarecrow in Stage 17 do?
Is it the spirit item, which you can morph into anything you want? I forget exactly how it works though. The item itself doesn't do anything, you have to change it to one of the other items.

You are right. Must push Select to morph it into many items. Bad, this mean I can finish this Stage faster when I must not dig one holes less and can just throw anything to one enemie. Here my new File Stage 17: Stage 17 done So test now some items: No item 34408 Frames till open the door Boomerang 33769 Frames without ever digging Roller Skates 32608 but digging and waiting longer some places So I use Roller Skates, because it the fastest item here.

Well, I'd hate to make you go back any further, but I'm sure there's at least one more of those on some earlier level. I haven't watched from second boss on yet, but on the first boss, I was wondering if you had considered digging up a shovel and/or roller skates. There are several of these around the level, definitely one of each near the entrance. I'm sure the same is true for each boss. Your boss fight is good, but you do let him move quite a bit in between hits. With a shovel you could get bones fast enough to hit him constantly.

I am not sure if I can find shovel by the first Boss or second Boss. I think they are not avaible in these Stages, but not 100% sure. I think the Shovel is avaible only in later Stages. EDIT: Arggg, found a shovel now by the first Boss. Have think there is no one there. But this is not easy to find. Good hide. So I must try all Stages again. :-( By the second Boss I need no other item, because I can only hit him 2 times when he land. So if I dig faster or not, it will save no time. And Roller Skates takes to much time to dig for, so I skip these by the first 2 Bosses. It will not save much time I think, because I walk only faster, but I walk not much in this Stage and digging one hole more cost much more time. By the third Boss I will try a bit more and this will take more time. There I can find Bombs, which are great. They dig up to 5 holes with one use. So I try to find good items with the first Bomb and must not dig anymore. Always one Bomb, maybe Roller Skates with the first Bomb and then finish the Boss fast as possible. But take more test till I find a good way here. EDIT EDIT EDIT: So here again the first Boss Fight, now with Shovel which Save much time. Frames without Shovel = 12932 Frames with Shovel = 12565 1. Boss done

Boss 1 can be killed faster. Check this out, I've got about 2 seconds on you. http://home.comcast.net/~f_amoroso/Boomers-edited.vbm Of course I took a pretty different take on the strategy, but you could definitely have executed your fight better by moving closer to the exit before killing the boss. Furthermore, each hit should come on the exact frame when the boss becomes vulnerable, so he won't move at all. There's no reason not to get this level of precision with an emulator this nice. Other general tips are to make every movement and frame count. Notice how my first couple holes were planned so I could pick up the item without stopping, and I kept moving towards the exit until throwing my last bone from the optimal spot. You had some good ideas, but you spent way too much time waiting after digging up your bones. With the shovel it's easy to dig a hole and move towards the exit in the boss's invulnerable time. With a little planning, it's definitely possible to grab some roller skates.

Always the same. I do something and all is wrong. :-( Always my movies to slow. Go to the top is not bad. I have think it takes to much time, so I have not try it or think about it. Maybe I am the wrong for speedrunning. EDIT EDIT: So now I have start again with recording. Because I have see, that I have done many errors. So I win now much Frames. After the 1. Boss this movie is now 143 Frames faster. The strange think, I lose in the Boss Fight 1 Frame to the Stage before, not sure where, but the complete movie is now 143 Frames faster. Luck manipulation is bad by this game. You can't just wait some Frames, it take so much Frames till in the next Stage the enemies walk totally different. So its impossible to try it with just wait some Frames the Stage before. And after you finish one Stage you can't manipulate the next Stage anymore. After you reach the exit the enemies in the next Stage will walk always the same. Only some little changes are possible, but not how the enemies walk in the beginning from the Stage. So some Stages takes now maybe a bit longer, but this is better then my longer bad movie at all I think. Stage 1-4 are easy. Stage 5 is now harder and I must walk a longer way. And I must wait a bit longer, because the enemie will walk in my way, when I not wait there. I walk as fast as possible again so I reach the exit faster then go a longer way here too. All new to the 1. Boss: Boomer - 1. Boss defeated

I arrived now by the second Boss. I found a spirit item there and I now that there are some Roller Skates hide everywhere. But no shovel. Now I have no idea what is the best use for the spirit item. Shovel - I think its useless here, because I have enough time for digging. Bomb - maybe a good idea. I can maybe hit the Boss one time and it will dig 5 holes. So I must maybe not dig anymore or get too some Roller Skates then. But it will be hard to find the right place for the bomb that it hit the Boss and dig good holes. Is Bomb stronger? Don't know it anymore if this will take more damage to Bosses. Boomerang - maybe too a good idea. I can hit the Boss 3 times with it at the beginning. So I must only dig for 3 Bones after that. Roller Skates - bad idea, because I can find enough in this Stage, but don't need it here, because I am near the exit and it takes to much time. Other Items most useless I think. So I will maybe try a bit and test many things here. Bad too, when I dig for the spirit item the Boss will fly to the right and there I can not hit him good. Maybe only with boomerang then. Or maybe someone know a better way for this Boss. Arrive 2. Boss EDIT: Done know, defeat the 2. Boss. First I use Boomerang. Then I dig for Bones. I have not the time to dig for the Roller Skates, but I am near the exit, so its no problem I think. Now I hit the Boss 3 time in a row with Bones too. Defeat 2. Boss

Is the 3. Boss Fight Ok? Defeat 3. Boss Or is shovel better for the spirit item? I hit him 3 times with boomerang. And lose not much time in this Fight I think. Edit: So 1 second faster now, because the last bone throw is from the top. So I am near the exit and get faster the last bomb. Edit again: Now its faster. This time I use shovel. And I dig only for bones, because they hit faster then the bomb. Bomb takes so long. Only the first hit and the last hit is with bomb, but all others with bones. Found no Roller Skates on the way, not sure if there are some here. And maybe it takes to much time here to dig for them, because I hit him very fast after always dig one bone.

Lookin pretty good. The moth boss looks suspiciously slow however. Other levels look fine. It seems in some cases you could go faster by manipulating enemy movements. How hard is this?

Yes the moth is a bad Boss. But I am not sure how I can do it faster. You must wait long, till you can hit it. You can't hit it while flying or shoting. So it takes so long. I have try a bit with enemie manipulation and found out some interesting things. When you start a Stage you can't do much anymore with the enemies near you. At the beginning you can only manipulate them when you finish the Stage before much slower (I wait sometimes 50 Frames and nothing change in the next Stage). Just wait many Frames, then the movement in the next Stage will change, not sure how many will change the next Stage, maybe 100 or more. But when you just wait after finish the Stage (wait longer in the screen which show the Stage) this help nothing. So its too long to wait before finish the Stage, so I don't do it and try my luck always in the Stage itself. You can too not manipulate all enemies I think. Some will always walk the same. Crabs and worms for example, when you start the Stage they will always walk the same I think. Some enemies hard to manipulate. You must wait at some points. Slime or Ant for example. When you near them they will move an other way as when you far away. But this will not work anytime. So they hard to manipulate and you never know if this will work or not. And some enemies are easy to manipulate, these which follow you, like the bird or dogs. Just go another way, and they will do it too. They try always to get the fastest way to you, so its easier to manipulate them. So I sometimes walk up when I must go down. So they will too walk up and will not in my way later. Sometimes you can too manipulate enemies if they dig or not. But its hard too. Move near them, far away or start digging yourself or not. But I never know why they do something or not. So its hard for me to manipulate this. Sometimes I just try a bit till I found it out or it was just luck that something has work.

7. Boss done I found out a very strange thing (Glitch) by this Boss. When I hit him as fast as possible every time, I must hit him over 20 times. When I wait just 2 Frames by every throw I must only hit him 10 times. So it saves many time, when I just wait 2 Frames before I throw the boomerang. Here an example what I mean: I can hit him the first time when I throw the boomerrang in Frame 100. Then I must hit him 20 times. When I wait till Frame 102 and throw the boomerrang then, then I must only hit him 10 times. Strange thing. Never know before and maybe this work by other Bosses too. But I will not try it out and make all Stages again, sorry takes to long till I get here. Maybe when I finish this run and done some other runs I will try it again, but I start not again with this run now.

Next Boss done Again its much faster, when I wait 2 Frames before I hit the Boss. So I can finish him that he not move. When I throw as fast as possible he will fly away after some hits and I must wait a next round till I can hit him.

So I have now redone the 5. Boss (the last on the way up). Because I found a trick later in the game, which help me to defeat some Bosses faster. The 5. Boss is the first where I have make a little error. I hit him to fast so I must hit him the double time. Now I must only hit him 14 times, first try I must hit him 30 times. With the trick, that I just wait 2 Frames before I throw the Boomerang it save me the half time from hitting him. So its much faster. Its now over 2000 Frames faster from my first movie. Stage 31 back done defeat 5. Boss in the half time

Wow, here's a game I remember having and finding very difficult to beat. With passwords gained from normal play, I could only get to the level set right after Zozoon (the boss at the top of the tower), and even with a Game Genie I couldn't beat the last boss at all (there's no invincibility cheat), so frame advance and re-records on that final boss (a pepped-up version of the first boss, if I remember him right) sounds like the only real chance at beating him. Those links are giving me 404s for some reason; otherwise, I'd check your video out and give advice. Edit: Sorry! Didn't see that this was a year old. I only figured it out by viewing the cancelled/rejected submissions and finding that Truncated had said no. Why does this ALWAYS happen to me?

Yes, bad that this movie gets a no. BAD: The main reason, its boring. I know it myself. Always the same in near every Stage. Search Key and go to the exit. Only the Boss fights entertainment a bit. And after you reach the Top, you must climb down again and see all rooms again. Not so entertainment too. GOOD: At the other side its a very hard game, and I would say near unbeatable. I think its near impossible to beat without Tools. I have never done it on real GameBoy. I reach the last Boss when I not wrong, but he was unbeatable for me. So for this reason its a great TAS. You see finally the end. And the last Boss looks so easy in this TAS. ;-) So I hope that some see maybe this TAS at all. To when it will not appear on this site as movie file.
