This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun of a 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog Hack Rom for the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive.
This TAS was created by CyanTheGamerhog01 (Me) in the Gens 11b emulator, for this race I completed the game in the fastest possible time that I can (I'm sure others can beat me), that includes: Taking damage, doing some brakes or even lose the Chaos Emeralds.
About the Rom Hack: Sonic 1 - Return to the Origin is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by carretero. In this hack, Sonic has to run through the zones backwards, trying to get to the beginning, including having to fight the bosses at the beginning of each third act instead of at the end.
Total Frames: 70018
Numbers of Rerecords: 4326
Watch it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/dxJQi_JzbkY
This is the first TAS that I upload on this website, the previous ones I only uploaded on my YouTube channel.

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Trimming blank input at the end and accepting.

Looks more or less fine to me, but one question: why so glitchless? You know that you can go through walls like a boss, right? (upd) I got 0:20.18 in GHZ1 in my quick attempt, just for your interest. Important changes are jump before the loop and faster start ([>][<]). http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1372850077/Sonic%201%20-%20Return%20to%20the%20Origin%20v2.gmv

Yes, I noticed, but this is one of the first TASes I do, besides that in my Playthroughs that I use on YouTube, I'm not one to use Glitches, but I'll try to improve >:)

Then I look at your TAS, and I think how it is :)

I just saw it, I really loved it! I should take some advice before doing a TAS

You can edit your previous post instead of posting a new one :) As I told, my run is quite a quick attempt. In this game it is very important to keep your eye on the direction buttons and when to press/unpress them. It’s all because of the air & ground speed cap. It’s especially annoying during the jumps from running state, when your speed goes above 1536 for some frames, but soon drops below, and you need to “catch” that exact moment and start pressing the direction button. I didn't really go for it, and still got a better time. But your run is also very good for a first TAS, I have to admit it. Honestly Sonic 1 & Sonic 2 (and their hacks) are probably not the best ones for the first attempt. Sonic 3, S3&K and their hacks are a lot easier to TAS, I would better recommend them for the practice.

I Like the concept, but I feel as if the "Glitchless" part makes it ever so slow... Voting: Meh
