Aha. I didn't quite understand everything that was said in the other thread but a few minutes sounds pretty much, so a death (or more) should be worth it.

I have one complaint, i think its a great idea to show the tricks, but as long as it looks fast. It cant be the fastest possible route (which would make invalidating the tricks) but things like dying on the fortress make it kinda pointless. I was kind of disappointed when he died on the fortress. It was interesting to show what lies after the wall, but... he had to remake the level so i had to watch the levle again. It would be ok to die if he could skip the level after.

The point of the death was to demonstrate what happens when you go through that one wall, and to show what's in there. I'm sure it's entertaining to see. He's not aiming for time (but not for boring the audience either, so he does keep the pace up).

Then I'd definately vote yes for this idea. Seeing glitches is always fun, even though they maybe don't save time.

biggest challenge will be going through the game without running out of cool tricks to show or repeating the same ones over again. I really found the WIP entertaining and I can't wait to see the completed version. Maybe you should recruit David Wonn to work with you? :p

I'm sure that, with the everchanging environments, there are plenty of fun things to do to keep the entertainment alive. Nice job so far Genisto!

I'd like to see this finished too. I already like it much better than the played out fast as possible run routine. Looks like SMB3 will amaze people once again.

Quick question, is this for (J) or (U) (PRG1)?

I noticed you got a frog suit. I quiver in anticipation of crazy antics with it in the water world!

I think you should use the frog suit in a place where it would normally be TOTALLY inappropriate. Like when there's a long string of levels that have absolutely NO water in them. Nice movie so far, keep going. :)

these tricks are great Genisto, comment avez-vous trouvé toute ceci?! I wouldn't mind working on this with you actually, if I can salvage the free time.

I would rather see a full run with all levels done quickly, but of course I think this can interesting to watch too.

I love the idea for this video. Speedruns are good, but I kinda feel that this is more appropriate for a Mario game, entertainment over speed.

Genisto, I don't know if you checked Wonn's site already, but he has some cool glitches on there that you might want to include in your run. http://kontek.net/davidwonn/nes.html#S Also, there's a glitch I found where you can enter the top half of a pipe. I don't remember which level it was, but I think there was a big hammer brother at the beginning and a pipe just behind him that leads to the rest of the level.

I don't have any plan since the beginning, but I improvise by analyzing each level. In most levels, I find rather easily what could impress the watchers. I don't thing to use the whistles for now because it skip the most interresting worlds (it skip the world 4 or 7). I thing to do something cool in these worlds. For the frog suit, I will use one in a stage where I can bring something like a shell.

Yes, I know... but I meant with the new techniques with going through walls etc.
