This game is Mega M... No, Rokko Chan.

Note: This game has a clear time submission feature. This TAS will not show that screen because the input ends before the ending, but you can change the input file to show that screen. i don't know if you can submit a clear time via libTAS, but DO NOT TRY TO SUBMIT IT.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: libTAS 1.4.5 + ruffle-nightly-2024_01_16
  • Beat the game as quickly as possible

Game description

This game is a Mega Man-ish Flash action game created by King. It's like a girl's version of Mega Man.
All pixel art is original and not pre-existing. It took about 2 years to produce and is quite complete.

How to Play this game / TAS

This game is divided into 5 swf files. Please place it as follows:
rock_project_ruffle.swf
swf
├─ data_enemy.swf
├─ data_object.swf
├─ data_sound.swf
└─ data_system.swf
Then load rock_project_ruffle.swf.

Comments

Following the RTA, the bosses are defeated in the following order: Volcano Man, Forest Man, Jet Man, Rolling Man, Lightning Man, and Hockey Man.
This order of destruction is also the order of weakness of the boss.
The boss has 28 HP, and if you hit its weak point, it will lose 3 HP. So, if you leave at least 9 shots, you can easily defeat him.

Other comments

Many boss actions are chosen with RNG, but I haven't figured out how to manipulate them.

Wow, this is a really good-looking fan game! I especially like the eagle planes in Jet Man's stage, the stage rotation in Rolling Man's stage, and the X-style Mech near the end. The game is a good moderate length as well. Lastly, the music is pretty cool for the most part. Yes vote.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. In the second form of the Dr. Mad fight, the eighth shot was not doing any damage. This file improves that part: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638510006404202754

The movie desyncs at around 6:35 in the temp encode. Seems like Rokko fails to activate a movement boost as she's falling off the platform. Here are the SHA1 hashes of the files I have: ddf3f60ce10df4ccbeb750987f7f975b58bf896a rock_project_ruffle.swf f3338f5aaa1bbfda397758d0db1f6ce7c066566b data_enemy.swf abb8d0555716bba82eb7c969eff244d1b3a071ca data_object.swf 4aecef91237844c4da734b28bfb1561efb6727c2 data_sound.swf 9a9ccd6075656acf9348cfaf947843fc62aa205f data_system.swf The four data_*.swf are in the swf folder. EDIT: Nevermind, got it to sync. I had to add -g gl to the command-line options.

This probably should be added as a note somewhere in the submission text in case anyone else has trouble with sync in the future...
