I gotta sort my thoughts. Might as well have a single thread for the series until deeper planning is started. No sense in making a needless mess. I figure, if hell ever freezes over and I get bored enough to finish Ninja Five-O (I'm just dreading the damn Base x.x) I'll pick out an EXE game to work on. I'm just wondering which would A) be the fastest and B) be the most interesting. There's five games in the series, with 3-5 having two versions apiece. What I'm seeing right now is this: EXE 1: Easily the slowest as far as movement and fighting goes. I haven't been past the Iceman scenario in god only knows how long. EXE2: Probably fans' favorite of the series, for good reason. Trouble with 2 is there are a few really long areas and a few really annoying bosses (Quickman...*shudder*)... There's just nowhere to get really good chips early on. EXE3: Rising in rank in search of Serenade takes a painful amount of pain, even when you KNOW what to do. EXE 3 is another fan favorite, but it's also probably the single LONGEST game in the series. EXE 4: Easily the SHORTEST game in the series. Capcom, in their infinite wisdom, makes you play through three times to get all 6 Navi Souls. One playthrough is more than enough for a TAS... But this rules out something I'll bring up later. EXE 5: Probably would be one of the more entertaining if made into a TAS. Liberation Missions being beaten as fast as possible would be great. Now... What I'm wondering is: Would it be worth it to play up until the final boss takes his dying breath, skip all cinemas after, and stop recording when the credits start... OR... Do the extra areas, only stopping when Forte (or Serenade, depending) is defeated? The trouble with the latter is, of course, the ridiculous rules on accessing the secret areas in most of the EXE games. That being - you pretty much need to collect every battle chip in the game. Now I figure with the patience of Buddha, you could manipulate the chip traders to spew out anything you need to complete your collection... but that would mean fighting to GET battle chips. And if I remember correctly, someone once said you could avoid battles altogether if you moved right. There has to be some way of rapid chip collecting, but it just isn't coming to me at the moment. Forte, in any form he takes, would be MUCH more satisfying to see fall as a finale than the final boss would. At least in my eyes. EXE 5 would be highly interesting, since there are more Liberation Missions in the secret area(s). But, as I've said, you need X amount of chips and such to pass into it. You need 100 Standard chips just to open the gateway TO the Nebula Hole Area. >< So... What are your thoughts on the series? I'm looking for ideas on what would be fastest, what would be most entertaining, and how to get around some of the more annoying things you have to do in some cases.

If EXE2 is used the Japanese version should be done in order to exploit the Prism bugs.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

I would object to doing this as a TAS atleast for the EXE5 part, heres why. -AWFUL alot of back tracking that wouldnt entertain it's audience -The random battles can not be manipulated to none. You will have to have random battles at one point or another (personally tested on EXE). Either that, the patience for it simply wont be worth it for the outcome of the movie with these long games. -Chip Trader can get you anywhere pretty fast with a huge amount of patience. >.<

I've always been a fan of the MegaMan Series, including MegaMan Battle Network. I've only beaten the first one on the GBA Emulator I have, hehe.

Don't you have to be a certain level to get past a certain point in the games? I seem to remember that at one point and I hadn't got many upgrades and had bought many chips so I had to battle to get more money. I can't remember which one it was though...

I wish I could help out by posting some huge game-breaking glitches, but I'm the one that would be learning from watching the vid. *scratches head* Money wouldn't be a problem in BN3 due to the gambling programs, anyway. Seeing anyone get the max amount in real-time would definitely be entertaining.

I agree with EXE2 Japanese. I disagree with lots of red text.

I think the main problem in this game would be the chip combinations, by meaning which chips to collect to have the fastest completion time. I don't really have any chip-collecting skills in these games unfortunately, otherwise i'd be on this run like a... well... i dunno. I started a run of MMBN3 in vba before the re-recording came out, although it only had the school complete i think.

Beat EXE1 for the first time in ages. Had to look at a guide AND a map for the Power Plant. But at least I finally 'got' it. It clicked this time around. c.c ...Man, I didn't think the game was so short. I've only beaten it once before - around when it originally came out, so my memory of it was blank. Given that I'm all hyped up for my impending visual guide for EXE6 on another website I'm staff on, I've been going back to the EXE games and playing again. ...Er... The GOOD ones. I can't help wanting to go into EXE1 again and finagle with manipulation. Would it be theoretically possible to start each battle with a PA loaded in the Custom Window? How well/easy is preventing random encounters? Etc etc etc. I dunno, I doubt I'll come up with anything decent as far as info goes. If anything, I'll just make some simple video walkthroughs for the other site. x.x; I'd still manipulate and rerecord to get things to go my way, but I wouldn't be striving for absolute perfection like I'd expect to see in an EXE TAS.

Chip selection is fairly random, as I recall, so it would theoretically be possible to start every battle you engage in with a Program Advance. I have admittedly done a save/load a few times in the second game to start against a boss with whichever PA would grant the biggest advantage.
