Which emulator you used? FCE Ultra
Which emulator settings? None
Do you use warps or passwords? None
What kind of programming errors do you abuse in the game? Making the game believe i passed through 1/2 the game.
Do you use death? Yes
What are your aims? Fastest possible
Please describe the game briefly. One of the weirdest NES games out there. They are releasing a new Boy And His Blob for the NINTENDO DS. Wonder how thats going to look.
Please describe the making of the movie. What was hard? Why would anyone like the result? After watching a video on the wall glitch, I tried it out with the help of Ketchup jellybeans. Now 1 minute faster than my original.

Bisqwit: I updated the submission file: I deleted the redundant frames from the end, shortening this movie from the length of 4:13 to the length of about 4:05.
Also, processing this movie now.

I got a Boy and His Blob in 4:13. 1 minute faster than the other versions. If they post my video, will they calculate the correct time???????

Cool. I was wondering if someone was going to make good use of that bug. Yes vote. Yay! One less Famtasia movie on my hard drive!

Stopped it late again, this could be 4:05 if you fixed it (and the extra time isn't cut off when publishing) ... it's as simple as going into frame advance at the end, pressing the button for the final move, and immediately stopping the movie before unpausing (well, as soon as player input doesn't matter anymore). But otherwise yes, this is now a pretty good improvement over the old one.

HAHA, no, i was really stoned when i did the typing and stuff for my speedrun and realyl didnt realize what i put. I do realize that when i throw the last jellybean in the blobs mouth that is when i hit stop, but i think its when the final boss is actually defeated is when it should be pressed. thats when the 1st jellybean hits his head. Anyways. Im glad i was shown that glitch on the forums cause it helped me a lot and plus with my ketchup trick i was able to beat the old time in 1 minute 30 secdonds at least. Hey, i have MSN messenger people and i'd love to chat with some of you punks. Add me to your contacts if you have it. Dark__Helmet@hotmail.com Im actually trying to get a MAME working and recording so my friend and I can do Metal Slug. But if thats not the case Kung Fu Heros 2 players should be fun to do.

This movie is weird. I didn't understand anything, except that there is a boy, there is a blob, and there is a cauldron.
No.

Regarding the description of the movie... I think there really is a reason that this game is "often overlooked". :) Nice movie, though!

Hey, thanks for publishing my movie. I just had my damn wisdom teeth removed today and i havent been around to look at my movie on the webpage until now. I have a question though regarding the emulators, for NES, SNES, and GENESIS. Can you start recording a movie and then stop the movie at anytime and then begin recording from where you finished last? If its possible please help me out on this one. Im pretty new with the recording games on the emulators.

Yup. Instructions are found in our FAQ.

Although it is a major improvement over the first movie, there's still room for improvement. You could have been more precise with timing the jellybean tosses. I understand the ketchup beans kind of prevent perfectly timed tosses, but sometimes it seems like you wait until the blob appears to begin tossing the beans. Also, your movements during the "blob phase-transitions" look unplanned. It looked like you played it in real-time and take extra movements to get to the spot you want to be in (this is expected when you only used 89 rerecords). Very good for a first movie though.

Well ive tried some moves with the blob but if he's not on screen when my arm goes back to throw it will just go past him and he gets sad. And thanks for the info Bis. I kinda knew that there would be something there but I wasnt sure and didnt want to search for like an hour. UPDATE: Hey Bis, can you help me out. It says "Be sure to load the saved state before the movie is done playing. If the state is loaded after the movie is done playing, it will load the state, but will not resume recording." Can you give me a good example. I tried to do this but maybe i confused myself. Say i was playing Mega Man and started recording and right when i got done beating a miniboss i want to stop recording. What do i do at that point and when i want to continue the next day. Sorry for the ?'s but it'll save me a hella lot of time rather than getting stoned and trying to figure it out. Thanks.. By the way. Ouzo is a terrible drink. :)

If there was a question in that big blur of text, I didn't spot it ;) Please don't fear to use paragraph breaks. Sorry, I'll answer to the question later, when I have slept. (If it still needs answering by then.)

Haha, im sorry, i dont use paragraph's that much on texts unless its for school or something like that. Anyways. I was really confused reading the FAQs about resuming recording after i have closed the FCEU. Ill give an example: Im playing Mega Man and want to stop playing after i beat the first miniboss, and continue playing the next day or later that night. If you can, you dont have to fully explain or whatever just like if you put #1: Save Game, #2 Stop Movie. Stuff like that. Sorry, im really confused with emulators right now because im trying to learn the Gen, SNES, and NES all at once right now and also im trying to record a speedrun of computer games from FRAPS i finally got. You can take your time to send me a reply because its not top priority. And get some sleep foo. PEACE

Save where you want to leave off and close the emulator. Once you're back on, load the emulator back up and play the movie (make sure Read Only isn't checked). Once playing, load the state and you'll be back to recording. This works for all emulators. What Read Only does is allow you to view specific parts of a movie without having to watch it all over again. Very handy for reviewing levels.
