I know, you've never heard of it right? You gotta try this action/puzzle gem. It's a bit too much brain stress to think about perfecting it personally but I'm enjoying every second of this game and seeing it perfected would be quite an pleasant thing to see. It's one of the only NINTENDO brand snes games that didn't seem to make it out of Japan... which explains the quality of the game in my opinion. Now if only it had a plot. :P

No, I haven't heard of it, but I might have to give it a download. And besides of course SMB2J (if you don't count AllStars) and Earthbound Zero, I'm pretty sure the early Fire Emblem games also didn't make it to the USA. I had no idea that Nintendo was still making SNES games in 1999 (FE5: Thracia 776.)

I tried it back when this was first posted, and it was fun, but I could not figure out much about the game. I am stuck at the level with three blocks and no colors (1-8 I believe). It is an interesting concept, but I don't know how good of a time attack it could make. Maybe there is more about the game I don't know. I do like the "Nice Clear!" at the end of each level, though.

I ADORE the nice clear... if you got the rom in a pack with several I recommend the one that has the NP with it... that version has a tutorial thing that you don't really need to read Japanese for, and the controls seem to be more functional or something. There are nifty controls once you get used to them... like try placing a block and holding up, that places it as high as you can jump onto. Anyway, it can't possibley be a worse speedrun than some puzzle games I've seen.

Hahaha, good point. Yeah, having it in Japanese took me a while to figure out basic controls and concepts. But I'm not sure if such a movie would be published. Maybe a couple years ago, when a lot of crappier movies made it through, but I don't know now. It is fun to play! I still haven't beat 1-8 though, but I have beat enough levels to get to worlds 4, 5 and 6. Maybe we should post this in the "rare gem games" topic or whatever it is.

Right now I've got all of worlds 1 through 4 solved, and all but 5-8 and 5-10 in world 5. I'm avoiding using the hints since it gives a 50% point penalty.

Sweet! A fellow player. *checks* I was at... 1-3 done... all of 4 minus 4-6... all of 5 minus 5-5 to 5-8 & 6-4 & 6-8. For those counting that leaves 3 left till the next set of levels. :)

I got 6-4, 6-5, and 6-10 done so worlds 7 through 9 are open to me. I also finished 7-1, but I'm going to sleep now.

Makes all the difference. It's a well-balanced game. Man, sometimes in certain levels, like 6-5, there is simply NOT enough materials to complete the level. It's really annoying... and I'm at 49/50 and I'm DYING to see the next batch of levels. Oh and Nrgspoon? You suck.

So I crossed the second bridge finally. I'd love to know what actually happens in this game through to the end because we still know so little about it. Will there be a boss? the next occurence point is at 75 points. What will happen then?!?! I only see 3 islands. :o

I've played this game and I must say that it is rather interesting. That kiwi (the bird you play) is just so cute when he's all swelled up with a ink/dye/color. :P A speedrun of it would be cool, but I don't know if anyone would actually be willing to do it.

You know that that thing is a kiwi!? Do you speak Japanese? Can you tell me any other details?

Here's a picture of a Kiwi. http://www.doc.govt.nz/images/national/kiwi-stewartis-brown.jpg If you compare that Kiwi to the Kiwi in the game, you'd notice striking similiarites between them. That's why I called the bird in the game a Kiwi. I don't speak japanese, and I can't even read japanese, so I can't really tell you much about the game other than that you had to use blocks, dye and creatures to help you get to the Rainbow Crystals or Gems to complete the level.

Mine is still the (J) ROM, since there is no (U) or (E) ROM in existance. You have to figure some stuff out on your own, unfortunately, but it at least has the tutorials to walk you through it.

There exist further TAS WIP parts of Sutte Hakkun by Kaizoman666, for the stages 5-1 to 5-10 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FgpB5xStMY ), 6-1 to 6-10 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlepHhLdnnk ), and 7-1 to 7-10 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syjsSzC4CUY ). These were originally parts of a Snes9x1.43 movie file, but (after having the movie file transfered to an lsnes file) by adding blank frames at appropriate places as necessary to resynchronise the WIP on lsnes, it was carried over to lsnes by me: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/45010467329363540 The WIP movie file (by Kaizoman666) actually continues somewhat further than what the videos show, and goes up to about halfway into 8-3. It seems that there might be 2 versions of this game, (J) which is the version that's used, and (NP) which apparently stands for Nintendo Power. In some stages, starting at 6-5, the permanent hopping (that is generally done throughout the stages to lower the movement/points counter shown at the top right of the screen in order to reduce waiting time at the end of every level) causes far more lag than the frames it'd cut off from the score countdown at the end, so this probably should be changed/adapted accordingly. As comparison material, and for the remaining stages, this video of a WR speedrun might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOY4CcCOjyk
collect, analyse, categorise. "Mathematics - When tool-assisted skills are just not enough" ;) Don't want to be taking up so much space adding to posts, but might be worth mentioning and letting others know for what games 1) already some TAS work has been done (ordered in decreasing amount, relative to a game completion) by me and 2) I am (in decreasing order) planning/considering to TAS them. Those would majorly be SNES games (if not, it will be indicated in the list) I'm focusing on. 1) Spanky's Quest; On the Ball/Cameltry; Musya; Super R-Type; Plok; Sutte Hakkun; The Wizard of Oz; Battletoads Doubledragon; Super Ghouls'n Ghosts; Firepower 2000; Brain Lord; Warios Woods; Super Turrican; The Humans. 2) Secret Command (SEGA); Star Force (NES); Hyperzone; Aladdin; R-Type 3; Power Blade 2 (NES); Super Turrican 2; First Samurai.
