• The Masters Fighter is a terrible version of the arcade game Master's Fury. This game is known for having some broken fighting mechanics, being very difficult to pull off moves due to lag and dropped inputs.
  • Default options except for setting 1 Round per enemy.

Gameplay

  • Basic fighting game mechanics, but no resources. Long-Way has a broken move that has a constant hitbox and lasts for a long time. For each hit it would normally slightly knock the opponent back, but when against the wall the hits keep hitting without giving the opponent a chance to break free. Using this move it varies in width so getting close enough so it constantly hits defeats the opponents faster. The move is so strong that it is an OHKO if the move is used on an opponent against the wall. If the move hits the opponent in the air it only does a small amount of damage until the knockback kicks in. There is a bit of a startup and the move is blockable. The move is also oddly forward so if Long-Way is right next to the enemy the move may miss the enemy since it attacks behind the enemy. Some enemies are wide like Bill so for those it will hit regardless of how close they are to each other. If that happens it is necessary to back away from the opponent. The main challenge of the tas is to get the opponents to the wall and use the move successfully.
  • Long-Way has a couple moves that are good for knocking the opponent to the wall. The best one is this rising kick move. After using that typically the best strategy is to move forward to move the downed opponent further towards the wall. Although sometimes the move causes Long Way to move behind the opponent for some opponents for some reason. On the super short final boss the move's hard version completely misses too.
  • The game has a broken wakeup system where a character is ALWAYS vulnerable on wakeup the first frame or so. This makes knockdowns really important for some of the characters that love to turtle or are trying to bounce around.
  • Opponents are not very reactive and tend to keep wanting to do whatever move they wanted to do. Kang for instance likes to spam this kick move all the time, Gamp barely does anything and just blocks and punches. Gamp and Azreal are such turtles that you can just keep pressing the right input to walk forward and push them to the corner (although that is slower, and then it is not possible to get the OHKO move in without using other moves to open them up). Other opponents do more moves, but the best time to knock them back is to attack on wakeup. The game commits one final cardinal sin by having the last boss being so short many basic attacks and specials completely miss. Long Way's kick special can only be the weak shorter version otherwise it will fail to hit him.

Potential Time Saves

  • Probably get more enemies to jump backward and block less.

eien86: Claiming for judging.

eien86: I heard this game had many shortcuts, but you chose Long-Way. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOLOLOL
Yes, this is a lousy tournament fighter game, but the execution here is flawless and faster than the current RTA WR, if we account for the boot-up time.
