I doubt it. Sorry, but it would take me all day to encode, the file size would be astronomical and I really have better things to do. There are a few AVIs dotted about this thread. Here is the progress so far. It is corrected up to Termina Field and contains some of my progress to Snowhead (I doubt this part will be in sync because I have yet to check it). http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3211/ZELDA%20MAJORA%27S%20MASK.m64 I've got the super slides sussed, but I'm unsure if my route is the best it can be. I'll encode an AVI similar to AKA's when I get into the path to Snowhead for evaluation.
The one here ended in the Bomb Shop for me..
Those who sees this must accept that TAS'es almost skips the whole game..

I'd imagine it would. That's a super desync area for some reason (annoyingly i'm going to have to go back there a few times during the run). Also it effectively ends upon entering Termina Field, but it does include my first two super slides. Just trying to get my infinite sword glitches working and then I'm good to go.

Is there something else I am meant to do to get through the crystals? I can activate the Infinite Sword glitch (I created a save state and when I run towards a ledge Link just drops off it rather than auto jumping, if I remember correctly, that means the glitch has been activated). However, in the video it appears as though Link just backflips through the crystals, yet when I try it he gets frozen. Am I missing something?

Are you blocking while backflipping?

Anything which would normally hurt Link or cause him to flash red will make him hover, while hovering hold Z+R.

You need to take time between each backflip, not just press A as fast as you can. Also, you need to hold R the whole time.

If the sword glitch is active, Link should stop at an edge, not fall off it, unless that edge causes Link to start sliding down a slope. But anyway, the easiest way to check if the glitch is active is to backflip and, while still in the air, press B to draw your sword. If the sword has a white trail, the glitch is active. If not, try again. If you're still having trouble, make a video of what you're doing and we can tell you what you're doing wrong.

Not true. With the right alignment, you can do it by ust pressing A as quickly as possible.

But doesn't it take less time if you don't press A as fast?

Woop woop! I figured it out, turns out I was pressing A to early. I'll post a WIP as soon as I optimise everything. I think I just need to blast onwards at the moment and get the second cycle done as soon as possible. Once I'm into the third cycle the rest of the run will be there for the taking and it will be easier to hold my nerve.

Here is an AVI of Termina Field. I took a different route from the one AKA took in his demo. I tried many different combos of super slides and think what I've done here is fastest. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also I tried to go through the Ice Crystals whilst being closer to Ikana Canyon, but it makes the movement look quite patchy, perhaps being closer to the middle could be better so I can go through in one motion. Again, tell me what you think. Get back to me so I can clean this section off and move on. EDIT -- I can put up the .m64 if anyone wants it, but I chose not to, I can no longer kid myself that anyone can run it. It looks like i'll have to encode this myself at the end of the day...sigh...

Your avi's are way too big, you should use much lower bitrate, compress the audio and lower the resolution (320x240). It looks really cool though, I've never seen supersliding before, and you must have insane patience to be able to do this with all those desync problems.

It looked very good and promising Mukki. I cannot imagine how you can make it faster, but then again, Im not AKA, Yautja etc to spot minor improvements.

The previous WIP worked great up to depositing your rupees, but it desynced when you were about to go to hyrule field (though it was probably because I changed the resolution slightly earlier). If you upload it, I will definately give it a shot and see if it works. I would be suprised if it didn't. The only problem I do have is that I can't fast forward with Mupen :(

Here you go Raisican, good luck. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/3235/ZELDA%20MAJORA%27S%20MASK.m64 Ignore whatever I do after jumping over the crystals, I just went exploring and I know it is unoptimised. If you even get that far that is...

WELL. Tried multiple combinations of settings, even got Comicalflop to have a go, we both desynced right after hitting the statue, you walk backwards, do a backflip over the hedge walk right up to the door, but don't enter. Comical managed to get inside the bomb shop using a save state, whereas I managed to get into the bomb shop via using the glN64 plugin, but neither of us managed to leave. For me, you roll right up to the door but don't get far enough to exit. :( Whats interesting is that the D3D8 plugin actually manages to stay in sync a large amount of the first cycle, though it desyncs after you return to the clock tower to go East Clock town (deku link falls down the side) Just to double check, you can get to hyrule field with the WIP you uploaded right? 800x600 windowed resolution, none of the advanced settings checked etc.. Just that both me and Comical desynced at the exact same place and that seems a bit odd to me..

Some things about the latest WIP. Firstly, it seems like you're doing a lot of waiting with the bomb fuse during your superslides. As much time as possible should be spent backwalking to wait out the fuse. Also, I'm not sure if that's the fastest way to get through the ice crystals. Considering that you can only get through the middle of the crystals, it might be better to start out lined up with them. Lastly, are all of those superslides faster than backwalking? the last one seems pretty short.

The last superslide did seem rather short, now that you mention it... waiting out the superslides like he did was fine. you have to be close to the blast for it to work, and the distance range between being next to the blast and as far away from the blast is possible is very minimal. I'd have to look frame by frame at the crystals, but aesthetically it looked fine, clean, and quick.

That's not what I meant with the backwalking thing. I'll post a vid I made of what I mean tomorrow.

Yes, please do, I can't quite grasp what you mean. One thing I discovered is that you need to be pretty close to the bomb to superslide (4 input frames of backwalking after dropping the bomb to be more precise), I'll hold off until I see this video.

I think petrie means to pull the bomb out earlier so when you do the superslide you don't have to wait for the explosion.

I remember seeing something on youtube where Link dropped bombs from doing a backflip, he'd drop the bom at the height of his jump and the bomb would drop down, no needing to pull it out and drop it. Is that what you mean?

That's what I did. On the first superslide I whipped out the bomb immeadiately after leaving the menu and, in fact, I did this quite obviously as I pulled out the bomb whilst falling from the ledge. I didn't do it straight away because I needed time to set the superslide. Anyway, i think Petrie means something else.

Backwalk with the bomb in your hands and drop it as late as possible.

That makes sense. I'll redo that and jump through the crystals from the centre. I'll post the next WIP at the end of the second cycle. ...and so I finally get to continue. Good thing TP was sold out...i guess...

Yeah, what Yautja said. But here's the video, anyway. Also includes a possibly faster method of turning when doing superslides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsfe9E-vpZA I'll get you the m64 if you want it, but I'll need a way to upload it. dehacked doesn't take m64s from savestates and rapidshare is down. ugh.
