As AKA, Raiscan and myself discovered (and have mentioned before), using Rice 6.1.1 video plugin makes it synch up perfectly, despite it not being the same plugin as Mukki's. Try using that.

You can get a pickup from the pots in the Freezard bridge room, or you can get it from the basement of the main room from the plants by the stairs. You could also manipulate some from a snowball or possibly a wolfos kill.
Cool. The basement and the Freezard pots are pretty out of the way. I'll look further into possibilities of manipulating inside if I really can't get get this to work.

Same here, even though my configuration is the same as Mukki's. This is why I asked for a savestate.
Uploading a savestate is pointless, since it practically guaranteed to desync, so much like Comicalflop mentioned I always watch the WIPs from the begginging, which of course means feed back is often slow. EDIT: I'll have to make it clear to everyone during the submission process that they'll have to watch the entire movie once through since creating savestates is pointless.

Tried. Same result. Same desync. Same place. I even tried to watch it from the beginning to make sure, still the same problem. I'll sit out of watching WIPs then ... unless a kind soul somewhere wants to encode WIPs to AVI, but I doubt that.

bkDJ has recorded some nice .mkvs. You can download them here. They are almost exactly like my current .m64, but a few things here and there have been changed.

I find Rice's 6.0.0 plugin works best to get things to sync up.

I really liked the way the Rice plugin made the game look. I can't really find the words to describe it, but the models looked sharper, like the light was hitting them differently. Regardless, the run looked really good, even for a person like me who has never played much of Majora's Mask it was entertaining

Desynchs for me at the enter name screen, with both Jabo's and Rice's plugin. So I hope you get your desynch problems out of the way, cuz I'll keep trying with mine.

That's probably because of the input plugin. I had the same desync and when I played it using TAS input plugin, it worked fine (up until that shop I mentioned)

Nope, already had the TAS input plugin running due to Turok. I'm still trying different combos of plugins, but are there any other files I need to delete before I run the movie besides the .fla file?

you need to delete the .fla file, let the movie play, and let it desynch at the intro 'enter letters' screen. after it desynchs there, play the movie file again, without deleting the .fla. that's what i need to do to make it work for me. try that out.

Ahhh.... seems to be working fine now, thanks for the tip. Any idea why that happens? EDIT: Rice makes the graphics look horrible for me, with dropped polygons everywhere and totally screwed up text, but at least it's synching so far.

Theres a problem with mupen (or this game?) where there are dead frames while it creates a blank .fla file. This varies depending on the machine and OS. As for the graphics, theres some options you could try fiddling with.

Is this problem unique to .fla files? Further, what exactly is the difference between .fla, .sra, and the other save file types (.eep etc)?

´ Thank you very much for this info! It worked but it desynched after around frame 92 000. I did fastforward a lot maybe thats the problem.

Fast forwarding doesn't affect if it syncs. Frame 92000, off the top of my head, sounds like entering the bomb shop at the start of the second cycle. If your desync is here using Jabo 1.5.2 then you need to use Rice and it'll work. Or you have a really old .m64 where entering the bomb shop had a desync.

This problem is unique with this game (from what I can tell) but Any game which uses .fla and possibly .eep will NOT have their save file deleted when playing back a movie. I assume its because mupen only checks to see if theres a .sra and nothing else? basically .fla, .eep, and .sra are related to how the original game stored its save data on the cart. I could be wrong, but I think EEPROM is for small amounts of data, flash memory is for larger amounts and SRAM is possibly somewhere in the middle. EDIT:

Forgot to mention that it seems to synch up best when Rice uses DirectX, but OpenGL has a chance of working too.

For me I always get a desync at the very first bomb boost, outside clock town, the boost never comes and he just stands there with the shield, sucks...

After looking at the route, it looks like I forgot to update the GBT strat. luckily, I don't think it affects the counts in a significant way that late in the game. Just remember to follow the vid I made earlier, except dolphin jump up to the red switch room. I'll probably remind you of this again when it comes up. Another thing to look at later is the trip up Ikana. Although you'd have an extra song of Soaring back to CT for another 10 chus, it may be faster to hover over the wall instead of using the rock climbing method. The fences should be hovered over with Blue bubbles if possible. Hovering over wall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWfF-UuWsUc Hovering over fences http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD9PpnQ1bXY How they would look together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbz8Vl_YPvE Note that the above movie is not necessarily optimal.

That does seem a little excessive in the first video, I think you're better off just using a Goron boost, since you don't want to waste precious bombchus and bombs, unless you plan on warping back to clock Town to buy more once you've hit the owl statue.

Well, I think you could hover off bubbles, but I'm not sure. Anyway, when considering it for the TAS, the time you gain is the time not spent transforming, superslides being faster, and not having to go the long way around. The time you lose is having to hit the owl statue at Ikana (we wouldn't hit it otherwise) and warp back to CT for an extra 10 chus. I'm not sure which is favorable, although the superslides method in the canyon looks pretty awesome...

I'm getting a desync problem, even though all my plugins are correct. If the graphics plugin is Jabo D3D6 1.5.2, like the "Movie Settings" say, it desyncs right at the name entry screen. If the graphics plugin is Jabo D3D8 1.6, the following occurs: - Everything goes correctly to get out of the Clock Tower - Deku Link goes to the Inn, and asks Grandma to read him a story twice - Deku Link goes to the shop with the Scarecrow (Pierre I think) and dances with him - Deku Link heads out then goes to the main Clock Town area, and this is where the desync occurs. Link runs around, eventually going to the Laundry Pool, where the clock runs out and the moon hits Terminia. Any ideas what's happening?

Hey RattleMan. Welcome to tasvideos. It sounds like you have an already previously saved file. If you delete all save files then you shouldn't get a select screen desync, Anyway, I'm finally inside Snowhead Temple, here's the latest .m64 file to sink your teeth into. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/5427/Zelda%20Majora%27s%20Mask%20TAS.m64
