I didn't see any topics about it, so forgive me if this is old news here. The peoples at participatory culture just released the first beta of their internet TV platform. It uses Bittorrent and RSS to send the video to a nice looking app, further smoothing out the process of sending video online. I propose we set up an Nesvideo channel. Bisquit already uses BT and RSS, so why not? http://www.participatoryculture.org/bm/ is the program that actually creates the channel, and http://participatoryculture.org/download.php is the app itself. It's mac only at the moment, but windows and linux versions are coming soon. - Phil

That'll make it difficult at the moment. Also, isn't it possible to run WMV or Winamp TV servers? I'm not saying it's better to use those, but we could consider those, too. "BisqTV" sounds like it could be pretty neat!

Well, WMV and Winamp aren't free and open source. Or nearly as slick as this is. No it does not take all the bandwidth of whoever is hosting it. At least it doesn't for me.

Well, if it's based on bittorrent then I would guess it's not real time. I would guess that it's just close to real time, with all the watchers uploading to other watchers to spread around the bandwidth usage.
