I'm pretty sure if you want them "glitchless" you can probly watch pretty optimised runs at SDA. and I bet (and know) that if you watch untassed segmented speedruns of OoT (and probly MM too) you will see many advanced glitches that at start were most likely tas only tricks. I think SDA would be your best shot.

it can be a little hard to determine what is a glitch though, because there are so many in this game. for example, is it a glitch to run backwards, because it's faster?

This needs much more Kirby 64. Although it isn't emulated quite perfectly yet and can be slow at times, it has massive potential like many other Kirby games, particularly in the ability combining aspect, though a lot of them can still be slow. Many stages and bosses are just impressive though and can be made to look even better when you break them in interesting ways.
This is only a little obsessive.

So, extrapolating that pattern downwards, it looks like you'd pay $3 for Goldeneye and $1 for Mario Kart 64...

Pardon my noobish-ness, but I would love to see an any% run of Yoshi Story; 1. Is one being worked on? 2. If not, then could someone start? 3. And if no one will, which emu should I use?

There was one being worked on a while back, Not sure what happened. And if you want to try, use Mupen 64.

My N64 Wishlist is Mario 64, 0 stars, 120 stars, ... even 70 stars, CCC, glitchless, any category is fine. There's always room for more Mario 64. That game never gets old. On the other hand I hate Zelda. So I hope that the Ocarina TAS is get done as soon as possible. Why, if I hate Zelda? Because then the N64 TASers can concentrate on the good games such as Mario 64 and leave Zelda alone. I also like Mario Kart 64 and F-Zero X.

F-Zero X, definitely. Specifically, a GP run where the goal is to kill all opponents in every race. I tried recording a few days ago, but I'd never tried N64 TASing and it was both horrible quailty and desynced very quickly.

yeah FZEROOOOOOO IMO the tases where you fly up into the air at super speeds are fast, but not as entertaining as the thrill of taking down other racers

We had a big discussion about whether or not we should allow people to make donations or bounties contingent on specific games getting TASes, and the general conclusion was that it's a bad idea. Not only is there then an incentive to get any TAS published (i.e. going for the bare minimum acceptable quality as that will get you the bounty first), it also encourages people to withhold tricks from their "competitors". And of course there's simply no way that the bounties could make a decent payoff for the hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of effort required to make a good TAS for the games under discussion. As soon as you tack a dollar value onto something, people will start calculating the "wage" they would be earning, and the numbers just won't make sense. I understand that you just want there to be a nice bonus that would encourage the creation of a TAS that you really want to see. Fundamentally, though, the only two options I see for you are a) wait patiently, without nagging the TASers, or b) help make the TAS yourself.

Great post! I must admit I did not think about all the factors mentioned. I am unable to contribute in the actuall making of the TAS due to working all the time and generally just having no skill and or experience in TAS-ing. I am still willing to give a small sum of money to whoever beats the current TAS just to show my apreciation. Even though I am aware that this will in no way come close to the wage earned in an actuall job in the same time. Even though, as you mentioned, this could cause problems :P

I am updating Nintendo 64 Wishlist by adding links to published movies. And I don't know if it's OK to do this.......

If all you're doing is updating "published" or "unfinished test run", that's helpful. In general, if you're "fixing" something, feel free to do it. If you're "changing" something, you probably want to ask.

I suggest putting "rejected 'obstacle course' run" for San Francisco Rush 2049, since a TAS for that game was submitted (and rejected), but the graphics looked fine and it appeared to play at normal speed.
