Emulator used: FCEU Hacked game Use warps (Unavoidable) Full amazing version
>>Abuses programming errors in the game<<<
Show hundreds of bugs Genre Platform
I don't know if Bisqwit will accept it, but, it's really fun to watch.

  2. 2: Bowser has more hit points.
  3. 3: Start with 0 live remaining.
  4. 4: times modified.
  5. 5: levels modified.
>: Kind of game near unbeatable in real time without reloading.
--Bugs description-- Able to cancel death in the pit if you jump. (Able to jump only in the hacked version)
After the character pass the flag or take the hammer:
  1. 1: you get stock if the character fall in the pit.
  2. 2: the character must be blocked by an object to finish the level or you get stock. (The character stop after a while if it's related to the hammer)
About pipes:
  1. 1: You can get hurt while entering in a pipe (if you die: you restart in the level destination of this pipe.)

  2. 2: ? square will give nothing if a coin exists on the top of it.
Press and hold left + right and the character will move back.
Shell or turtle with his wings lost stand in the air if you jump on the turtle on the bottom of the screen.
Bowser bug if you not kill him and if he is not at the end of the level.
And more ... :)
Every bugs exists in the original version of the game, but I don't know if the character is killable while entering in a pipe.
Funny thing: In the original version, in any level lower than unit 4: there is a brick hidden after the door of the castle to block the character, abling the level to finish. You will see it in this movie.

Are you sure that forcing Mario to power down has never been done before?

In SMB3, Frank's SMB3 hack forces Mario to power down. Fortunately, those levels which force Mario to power down aren't that tough. There are other cases in creative hacks, and even if there weren't, I could easily make one using SMB3 Workshop.

I wonder if anyone cares, but I've made two AIR-related FCM files. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smb1-air-end-no-death.fcm -- this is linked in the movie entry. It demonstrates how to modify Genisto's movie so that Mario doesn't die in the end. The game is completed with Fiery Mario. -- It also demonstrates that after Koopa disappears and reappears, he has became invincible. He still has a hit counter of 256 hits, and when you kill him once, the counter overflows and he dies again when you shoot him 256 times. [ur=https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smb1-air-bisqwit.fcm]https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smb1-air-bisqwit.fcm[/url] -- AIR completed with warps. Movie length: 20162 frames (0:05:36.03). 2535 rerecords. Played from start by Bisqwit. Ignores coins. https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/smb1-air-bisqwit-v2.fcm -- AIR completed with warps. Movie length: 19512 frames (0:05:25.20). 3675 rerecords. Played from start by Bisqwit. Ignores coins. -- AIR is a game that messes up SMB1. This is a movie that messes up AIR. I'm completing most of the stages in a way that is completely different than what the hack author intended for. It ends with Big Mario, and doesn't take a Flower in 4-3. -- I didn't want to shrink Mario in 3-1, but 3-2 desyncs if Mario is not small. -- The ID and Password displayed on the page are for the game's homepage. There's a password protected page, where those secrets go. (The secrets can also be discovered by reading the javascript code on that page.) After analyzing this game this much in detail, it seems like this game was designed for coin competitions. The goal of the game (besides successfully completing the game) is to collect as many coins as possible. Genisto did of course very good job with 113 coins. Still, many were missed.

The very notion that 95% of what's seen in this video is intentional is disgusting. Even after reading the details... I'm at a loss for where the point is. Though... for what it's worth... I am glad SOMEONE slayed this demon.

3-2 is clearly the best level ever.

Some coins are traps in themselves, and must not be collected, because doing so the player would not be able to return to the right path.
Considering all the usual SMB1 tricks, the ability to jump at any point, and whatever tricks for getting through walls might stem from combining these, are there really any particular coins that can't be collected or for certain would trap Mario as intended? -hanzou

(Longtime lurker, first-time poster. ^^;) ...Holy crap. That was insane, on both the runner's part and the designer's part. I'd vote 'yes' if I could, even though it's belated....

Read Genisto's comments. He has already explained it.

Is this the complete run? And will there be a complete time attack on this by any chance?

This hack was the work of an insane genius and I'm glad the movie was published.

This must be the Rubix Cube of Mario Games! Loved the movie, hardly knew what was going on, but it looked very impressive (as always by Genisto's work). Definitely a quality hack in terms of using the SMB engine to its fullest. :)

I think maybe the "warp zones" were the only way to reach the end of the game, and there weren't any levels to skip.

Seems there's a "parallel world" mentioned on the Air homepage that you access following the completion of 4-3? Air Homepage in Japanese Air Homepage with English translation (sort of...) by Google In particular, the last part of the "SKY" link and the "AIR" link within the "BLOOM, DREAM, DESPAIR, SKY, AIR" menu, midway down the page. It looks as though there's a new boss at the end of (assumedly) parallel 1-3 as well as a different ending (with the GIF conveniently mosaic'd so nobody can see it.) Of course I could be totally wrong. That's what I was able to cobble together from the translated page, which resembles something of a Where's Waldo of the English language. Worth a mention at any rate.
Of course, I could be lying.

Why is it that machine translated Japanese somehow never fails to sound like a guy on meth trying to write haikus?

I like how most of the Japanese-to-English sentences refer to the actions of some undefined "it".

Those where it has distributed are the ips patch which is finite difference. Without all trainers the patch please do in image. How doing the patch, it applies? And so on elementary On Internet being not to accept, we ask question.
That's some deep stuff. I have to add that the guy who made this game was probably smoking some crystal meth.
