It's not better you *insert random word that you wouldn't want to be called*. I would edit your post and type in something like "I'm stupid because I think CT is better than ALttP" but then Bisqwit might get mad and take away my mod powers so I won't do that. Edit: By the way, I already mathematically proved that ALttP is better, so you have no argument against me :P Unfortunately I don't feel like explaining the proof so you'll just have to trust me on this one :) Edit 2: I just thought of a good idea. Would there be any way to make it so that every time someone wants to download a speed run he has to vote for ALttP first, or else it doesn't let him download it? That would be pretty cool, and would probably ensure a win for ALttP since so many people download the videos.

So would running a contet based on the results of the polls. Or do you think the influence on people to vote not for what they believe to be better but that they believe to be more popular because that's how they filled out their contest bracket is small?

The voting results will just prove that Chrono Trigger is a more popular game than A Link to the Past, if CT wins. It won't prove that it is a better game. CjayC stated at the beginning of the contest that it is nothing more than a popularity contest.

Some of them are voting many times. Since ALttP really is better, that's the only way Chrono Trigger can win.

why are you all arguing over something so subjective? There is no way to objectively prove whether one is better than the other, and attempting to do so is illogical since it relies heavily on personal preference. Remember that an opinion and an argument are entirely separate concepts.

You forgot one important thing. ALttP has better gameplay :) ALttP is also just more fun in general.
That about sums it up for me. :-P Though I like the music and art in ALttP almost as much as that in CT. I'd rather play ALttP, but that's 'cause I've finished CT <bignum> times already. Right now there's about 400 votes difference in CT's favor, but I don't mind either of these games winning. Now if only a game from the top bracket's gonna win this thing (preferably SMB3) I can continue pretending this thing calles justice is real. ;-P

i just found his response to my voting on CT kind of offensive, so i said CT is better than alttp. yea, it's subjective, and the only way you could get close to saying one thing is better than the other when it's such a subjective matter, is by having a poll.

I still don't see what's wrong with mathematically calculating which game is better. All you have to do is press some buttons on your calculator, press the equal button, and the words "ALttP is better than CT" will show up on the screen. Try it yourself if you don't believe me. *insert random smiley that this forum doesn't have*

Sorry mf, but Chrono trigger > alttp in most ways and I honestly do not think that Chrono fanboys would be more prone to cheating than Zelda fanboys on the poll. EDIT: By the way. FF3 >> alttp as well. The outcome of that poll came as a huge surprise for me. Well, alttp is a great game. I have played it a lot, found all items/pieces and the game is really easy to beat. CT and FF3 are just so much more content and fun. Especially FF3.

A Link to the Past established some pretty standard concepts for Action RPGs in the 16-bit genre, which can actually be seen a bit in Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. Traditional RPGs tend to be longer and more story intensive, but I think ALttP is a fundamentally more sound game than either Square outing. And of all the games left, Super Mario Bros 3 should win. But remember, it's not only a popularity contest - GameFAQ's users have "stakes" in it - via that contest. That really upsets me, makes peopl want to cheat even more.

I sometimes think I'm too cynical, because I make posts like this more than I make substantial posts, but... Does it matter? Some poll on some site isn't going to change your opinion of the game. I don't know what drives us to ask questions like, "What's your favorite Zelda?" rather than appreciating each game for itself.

the three minute glitch isn't fun to watch, unless you find Link moving through a set of room walls for a couple minutes entertaining. There's already a video of it out there on the web.
