erm, all glitches kill ganon run, that's grab the lantern and then glitch into the right pot on the first floor, fight ganon, kill him. It'll take a while on the Ganon fight though. :)

Tompa, I would like see a WIP as soon as there is a difference from the original. You got the new arrow route planned pretty fast it seems. Dezbeast, I have planned out and executed the route, it is going to be about 9:10 long. It would have been done yesterday but can't quite get 4 hits in per light on ganon (about 15 frames too slow), and if I could it would save about 6 seconds. Leaving on vacation tomorrow so won't have it done for a while. Here is the WIP: http://golfscript.com/temp/bug3.smv If anyone is up for it, feel free to try and do it and it can be a joint submission. As a first iteration for this route I don't think the execution is as frame perfect as tompa's, but it should be close. I figure a run like this is more likely to benefit from a new glitch or major route change (there are many many routes through exploration zone), so that is where most of my effort has gone. PS the reason for exiting the cave and reentering is because wrapping around the edge of exploration zone removes monsters but I need them because the armos knights are needed to modify memory at 7e0b20, which for some reason or another stops the old man bug (bug where game hangs when you try to get the mirror while it is still raining).
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Well, it's different a few frames after leaving the house, everything up to the entrance of the castle will be the same as my EG-run. I haven't found anything to improve up to that point at least... 11 frames faster in the castle, will post a WIP once I reach Zelda.

Really enjoyed your WIP, Flag. I may take a crack at Ganon, but I don't think I'll have any better luck.

Back, well good luck if you do. Here is some information that may help (although you might want to not read this until after you have tried for a while because it could cause you to run into the same [possibly false] assumptions). It is basically just making ganon's teleports as short in time as possible, although the lamp could have been lit 4 frames later, giving you 4 frames longer to get the 4th hit in (but I needed more than 4). I think I have the shortest warps in distance possible, but there might be randomness that affects the time the warp takes even if same length, this I haven't checked yet. I will hold off on my attempts for about a week then I'll try again some more if it hasn't been done yet and submit regardless if I can get the 4th hit in.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

I'm starting to doubt if I'll redo the run or not... I don't know of more than around 2 seconds of improvements for a 40 minutes long. I guess I'll just finish the run and then start to improve it, if not someone else wants to. I feel lazy... Anyway, Flag, I gave a shot to see how optimal your run was :). I saved 17 frames to the screen after the house. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/968312948/bug3V2.smv

I would definitely not start over for 2 seconds saved over 40 minutes, especially when you are so many minutes ahead of published TAS. I was not aware of any errors in the first 2 screens, but its good that you found a couple frames which I guess resulted in more savings due to not having to wait for rupee drops with the bushes (they go on and off every 8 frames). However at this point I am more concerned with route changes or new glitches (for example radblast's discovery of no silver arrows, saved like 30 minutes from my first attempt at a bug run a couple years ago). And also if that last hit on ganon WIP I posted could save 15 frames it would save 6 seconds (assuming 4 hits on next light too).
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Wait, I'm confused... Are you re-doing the run because of the Ganon trick? or something else I missed? Also, only 2 seconds for not having to get multiple swords and... stuff?

What basically made me take the decision was the stairs glitch Flag posted about before. But still, I don't see that being much different than the one I posted, EG-wise. So I'm still unsure if I shal use any of them. 2 seconds for things that I know I can improve in the run. Most of which is stuff up to the first dungeon.

Just wanted to add an update here so that you know that I'm not dead yet =P. To those who dooesn't know: I'm not redoing the whole run. I did however restart dungeon 4 so that I could get an arrow refill without losing too much time. That manipulation kept me busy for a long time, so that's why I haven't progressed much lately. Dungeon 4 is soon done. Shall I post a WIP to show the changes or wait until dungeon 3 is done? I have done some changes to the arrow route, but it's still not finished. I'll need to find a good place where I could fill up my arrows in Ganon's Tower. The chest at the big key is one idea. It will give me 10 arrows, which is just what I need. If someone else hasn't got a better solution... Also, I wonder if I can use this trick somewhere. I haven't really checked yet myself. Note that this can also be done using the mirror in the overworld. Edit: Here's something else I found http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/290758052/PossibleShortcut.smv At that spot, it won't save anything, but there might be other locations where the same trick can be used... If someone find a spot, please tell :). Edit again: I guess it doesn't hurt to add two more glitches... http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/871568730/EdgeJumping.smv http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/274144397/MoreEdgeJumping.smv

Well, why stop already...? http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/822714051/MoreMirrorGlitching.smv Too bad that requires the flippers and once I have them it won't be neccesary anymore. But there might be other places where I could use that.

I was able to jump down there from the other side of that area from your other smv. I glitched onto the fence on that side, and it lets you jump into the water (but I didn't have flippers). Also, how does the Edge Jumping work? I don't know when I'm supposed to use the mirror, and what direction I should be pressing while warping, or whatever needs to be done to make it work. I figured out that the chicken farm glitch, you just literally wiggle onto the next screen, but the edge jumping baffles me.

You just use the mirror at the very frame when Link starts jumping. He has then moved a pixel or two depending on which direction you are jumping to.

Whoa, those are nice glitches
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Do you think you can help out to find possible use of any of these glitches? I've tried but haven't found anything yet.

None come to mind immediately for your run, but for the ganon kill with exploration glitches, it looks like the one you use to cut from the smithy shop in dark world over to the pyramid would save time getting into hyrule castle. It seems like there is alot of potential for other things too.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Does this mean you can improve your glitched run by much? Also have you worked anymore on the Ganon fight? Tompa, how has your progress been? I'm eager to see a new WIP.

I'm currently in the first room of the third dungeon. And am, of course, having manipulation issues. I made the first room perfect, but then it was bad manipulation in the next room. And the enemies in that room are moving while I'm in the first one, so it's quite complicated ;D. I can upload what I have, not really much different than before, when I'm switching computers.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/931306702/ALttP-WIP-DarkForest.smv The changes start after getting the big key in the 4th dungeon. I'm quite proud of the manipulation I got when saving the princess. That one took me a long time to do. As you see, in the end of the movie, the room where it ends looks good, but the mummy in the next is in my way. I'm losing around 10-13 frames because of it. So I'll redo.

Might be the final public WIP now, but we'll see :). SMV YouTube One thing that should be possible is to kill Kholdstare with two double hits with spin attacks. I wasn't able to do this however. But I'll be happy to redo the fight if someone manage to do it, I'll keep trying some as well just to make sure...

Looking good. Were you able to get your Mothula battle better than Des's? It sure looked like it.

Really nice damage boost and tricks in the ice palace. Looking forward to seeing the whole thing (especially ganon's tower).
