I know this idea might not work, but since the SNES version is an all items run (sorta), why not make a glitched version of this for the GBA remake/port? As in, it has the same goals as this run, but uses the walk through walls glitch which this run doesn't. It'll make the GBA version look vastly different.
Oh, and obtain full health, which if I remembered correctly, I managed to do that without obtaining all the heart pieces (wtf?).

Yuzuhara has actually made such run on the GBA version already. First part of it can be seen here: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm17502239. And the other two in the description.
Did you use the Reset Curse Glitch for more hearts of something? Otherwise I have no clue. I'm not too familiar with the GBA version and its glitches.
Thanks! Think it'll be submitted? :P
Also, I believe what I did was enter a dungeon (which I don't think I completed yet) and used this glitch to go OoB (I was doing it in real time, but you can use the stairs to go OoB instead). I think I then travelled to a room where you refight one of the bosses and it dropped a heart container, even though I don't think that's supposed to happen according to GameFaqs.
I'm going to try and see if I can repeat this, and post the .vbm. If not, then I'm going nuts and my save file is just messed up. 0_o
Edit: And I've just realised all the boss refights are at ganon's tower! Welp, time to start playing.
why this game has no 100% run?also, nice diagonal jumps there! How is it done?
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto.
TAS i'm interested:
Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS?
i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

I started a 100% run awhile ago, we'll see if I ever get back to it.
I guess I should mention here as well that the run Yuzuhara and I are working on is on hold. This because Yuzuhara is unable to work on it, and I don't want to do it without him.
hearts,final Y button items(includes medallions),Final equipment,quest items,bottles,upgrades(for bombs,arrows,magic,rupees)
what else?

100% is based on getting all items on the subscreen, all heart pieces, and max level of equipment except the bomb and arrow upgrades. The level 2 shield and blue mail can be skipped since they are replaced by the mirror shield & red mail.
We could do a minimalist run. Getting the minimum items needed. I say that three bosses can be skipped. With that being said, the game can be beaten with 11 hearts.
Rundown of a minimalist run:
Don't need any bottles
Don't need a boomerang
The Bombos Medallion is not necessary
Forge the Level 1 sword
11 hearts
In order to do it, you need to perform the glitch in Death Mountain. (watch Mike's Game Glitches)

You could probably go lower than that if you abused the staircase glitches. I've found that you can access the room before the big treasure in the second dungeon from the first basement floor in Hyrule Castle, and if you went ahead and collected the big key from the guard in Hyrule Castle, you can actually open that chest too. Doing that, and then combining that with the Death Mountain Decent glitch, you can get to the Dark World without completing any of the Light World dungeons.

That means we don't need the Book of Mudora, the Pegasus Boots, we can even beat it with 3 hearts and the level 1 sword.

I'm not sure if you could actually go that minimalistic without basically doing what the glitched run does. If I remember correctly, you have to collect the heart containers that the bosses drop to collect the pendants/crystals. You also have to have the Lv. 2 sword or higher and the Book to get the ether medallion in order to open the dungeon in misery mire. You could probably skip the lantern under TAS conditions since you could navigate the dark rooms without and just use the fire rod once you get to it. If it's something your really interested in doing, I'd recommend maybe finding out what items are required to do things in LttP. Zeldapedia usually indicates what uses items have on their wiki pages, it might be a good place to start.

Technically the fastest published run IS a minimalist run, since you don't need to pick up anything. You just use the walking through walls glitch.
But I assume you mean a non-glitched run. I'm not fully up to date on the glitches, but I do know we can at least skip:
Boomerang
Bombs (Pretty sure we don't need them anywhere)
Magic Bag
Bombos
Bug Catching Net
Bottles
Cane of Byrna
Magic Cape
Both shield
Tempered Master Sword and Golden Sword (was it called that?)
Both Tunics
It's possible there are more items we don't need, but then we need to glitch past them.
Now, I noticed that you, Pikachuman, stated that we should forge the Fighter's Sword, but (unless you can glitch past it) you need to collect the Titan's Mitts to pick up the black rocks to save the other dwarf. That means you'd need to collect two items in your scenario, whilst the Master Sword is just one.
Now, I do believe I heard something about being able to hit Ganondorf during his later phase with the Tempered Master Sword without using a Silver Arrow if you use a spin attack. If that's the case, we don't need the Silver Arrow.
But that means you have an equal number of items, so it comes down to time.
Question is, what takes longer: Picking up the Master Sword and the Silver Arrow, or forging the Fighter's Sword and having to get the Titan's Mitts as well?
Sorry if I sound inexperienced, that's because I am. I played this game a lot, but I never thought of speed running it, I'm more a completionist myself.

I may be mistaken on this, but after checking on Zeldapedia, hitting Ganon with the tempered sword without spinslashing might be a GBA exclusive thing. That being said, that could be implying that you can hit Ganon with the tempered sword by spinslashing. Depending on what the requirements are to access Ganon's Tower on top of death mountain, you might have to pick up the ice rod in order to beat Trinexx.
Also, not to sound like I'm going in the opposite direction of a minimalist run, but by turboing the A button with Pegasus Boots, you can "hover" over pits, which might lead to more item skipping.
EDIT: It would probably be better to go with forging the Tempered Sword, since you have to collect the 3 pendants in order to get the Master Sword.

Possible, but I have no idea if it's GBA exclusive or not, since I never tried doing that whilst fighting Ganondorf.

*facepalms* How did I forget that? Changed it.

Well, it depends on how big the pit is which you have to hover over. The bombs can also blast you across small gaps, so we could pick that up as well. Though I suspect the Pegasus Boots save more time, since it makes Link run and all.

Should we count the pendants and crystals as items? I thought this was only for actually usable stuff, not stuff you get after a boss. I think we need to first define what can be categorized under items.
