I'm sure you guys know this, but if you go to Mumbo to transform from a washing machine he will transform you for free. So, one way to handle transformations in general would be to immediately enter Banjo's house and get the washing machine code, then get the 5 tokens in MM and collect all the Jiggies and notes there, then complete CC and TTC and unlock the warp cauldrons, then turn into a washing machine. Once you've done everything you need with the washing machine, transform back and get everything else (for example, Jiggies involving the running shoes). You never need more than 5 Mumbo tokens with this strategy. I think that collecting the five tokens in MM is probably faster than unlocking and playing through TTC before going back to MM to transform and collect the related items - but if I'm wrong, you should beat the game without getting any tokens. Anyway, here's what you miss if you skip transformations (as I posted previously): - Termite is needed for 2 Jiggies and 6 notes - Alligator is needed for 1 Jiggy and 6 notes - Walrus is needed for 3 Jiggies and 9 notes - Pumpkin is needed for 2 Jiggies and 5 notes (and unlocking RBB) - Bee is needed for 2 Jiggies.

Thanks for that. Pumpkin seems to be a must for RBB (unless I use sandcastle cheats, which I've decided I won't (that can be a different category)), and the termite doesn't have to be used at all for its jiggies and notes. I still can't decide what will be better to skip though.

Walrus is needed for 4 jiggies (Wozza, Jinjo and both Boggy races) and no notes, since all walrus notes can be collected with a surface dive (while swimming on the surface of the water, hit A and then Z 1 frame later). Termite, as demonstrated in Sami's TAS, is completely skippable. Alligator is needed for an additional 6(?) notes in the area under the breakable huts; the overhangs with stuff under them are too close to the ground to go under as Banjo. However, the jinjo in a similar location can be collected using a beak barge. The Bee figure is accurate. However, a bee may still save time because it can climb up the tree much more quickly than Banjo. Pumpkin is not skippable. The loading zone into the chapel that contains the water level switch is apparently hardcoded to reject Banjo.

Actually you need warlus only one Boggy race. Other race you go with sprint shoes.

Really? I thought you had to beat the walrus race just to be able to play the speed shoes race.

You do. so even though you aren't the walrus getting the sprint shoes jiggy, you have to have become it at one point. :/

New WIP: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/5065/Banjo-Kazooie-TAS-Sami-%28USA%29.m64 Its not complete stage, it ends when I go inside Clanker first time. When i go those upper "holes" I switch camera angles alot to get smooth movement as possible.

Hey Sami what video plugin are you using? All the character models (grunty, banjo etc) show up as white for me when I start playback

Jabo's 1.6. WIP was good Sami... I was going to encode the wips of this run, but the levels are too long. mupen encoding high quality on my computer is about 5 frames per second, so anything longer than 2 minutes of .m64 takes FOREVER.

As I said before, I can't run mupen on my computer. So could someone please tell me if A)Sami used Beak Buster climbing or jumped up the climbable surface or if it turned out to be slower after all?

Thanks, it works good now. I just finished watching the WIP and it's coming along really well, I was shocked to see you didn't die at the bottom of clanker's cavern :P. It always used to take me something like seven attempts when I was a kid to get all the notes and turn the key three times.

When CC is finished, I will watch the next WIP. This TAS is easily half an hour faster already than the SDA Speed Run. COngratulations! ^.^

Saving more frames - Hold L, R and B buttons to skip dialogue. Hope that helps.

Has there been any more progress on this run in the last few months? I've been keeping my eye on this to see if there's anything else

the lobby is good so far but I haven't really tested every MM entry frame for a good conga result yet due to laziness. I haven't dropped it though.

You're hitting A right before landing on every platform you jump onto, right? Doing a roll-backflip into each loading zone before you get talon trot? Performing edge-boosts where possible?

It's delicious! I just always imagine playing this game at Wal Mart, where there were a lot of good times.
I like Doraemon
