For the record, I will be very disappointed if you pay the egg tolls in RBB.

Been a couple of weeks... how's Freezeezy Peak treating you, Sami? Thought I'd ask seeing as a) I'm discussing doing a new on-console run with some adapted routes over at speeddemosarchive and this is my worst level at the moment... and b) since I just need to know when I'll see another kickass level run from you. :P Have an estimate on the amount of time you'll take in there yet?

Fair enough. I have a video of a possible route for Rusty Bucket Bay up on Youtube, involving the toll skip, boom box trick and window glitch. Not sure if it was anything like you had in mind, but I'll post it here anyway just in case. I make some pretty bad mistakes leading to about a minute of lost time, but it was my first time trying out the new route I guess. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaOY9isLdC0

Nice route and tricks you used =) When FP is ready I start planning RBB route and then see how different my route will be.

in rusty bucket bay, if you do a beak buster next to the fans, you can glitch through them

Sami, once again, I'd like to say: jumping then doing the beak buster is faster than climbing. Climbing test 2 This is not optimal (I've gotten much higher zips up poles/trees, I need to investigate to see what causes higher zipping) and I don't land on the same side that you do, but upon landing, it's 22 frames faster. I'm not saying go back and redo the whole thing, but for the rest of the TAS I'd like to see more zipping up poles, and maybe once this is done a more thorough version 2? No demands, just suggestions. That aside, I hope that you finish this project soon; I look forward to its completion a lot.

I tested that only in CC ladders and it wasn't glitch that way :P Yeah but i might use that in other levels beacuse its faster.

From what I've seen; it might work better on poles that have a flat side, like the palm trees. The rounded pole just before CC didn't work as well as the first climb test video I made (earlier in this thread.) Also, what frame you press Z makes a difference, what angle you're jumping at, and most likely many other factors.

I can use that trick inside FP Christmastree.

Sami, I just wanted to say that out of all the runs on this site; this is the one I'm looking forward to the most. The WIPs have all been great. Keep it up!

Really eager to see this segment; it's the only level in the game I need to get a route sorted out for, Marshmallow's could be improved quite a bit. A video of the XBLA version of this game was leaked today, so I'm pretty eager to get back into running this game again - if only I had routes for later levels. Once Freezeezy Peak is done, I reckon the rest of the game should be fairly easy to plan, at least. Execution may take a while, but I think once you've finished this level everything afterwards should go a bit more smoothly. Good luck!

I actually watched all of Marshmallow's run, and in the remaining levels you can use the pole zipping trick practically everywhere. About every stage onwards from Freezy peak until the end has lots of long ladder-rails or poles that you can jump and zip up. I'll be expecting a ton of zippy action in the rest of the TAS ;-)

I found weird thing... When I shoot the christmastree activation star three times a row, switch wont activate :o I need to shoot first egg and then take a little break and then shoot the remaining two eggs. It look stupid but no can do :p

There might be something weird with you shooting that first egg too fast. I'd keep experimenting, and see if you can get it right, but don't try too hard! One thing I was wondering with those ladders/poles... It may be that jump, beak buster, grab the pole next frame, and jump may be faster than zipping; I forgot to test that. Sometimes when I zip I don't gain a lot of distance. Perhaps alternating will work; but definitely test both actions to see which gains more height per jump.

I've noticed this when playing the game way back when. I think it has something to do with how the game registers the 3-egg-at-a-time shoot as apposed to 1 egg + 2. It's just an educated guess however.

It could just be a detrimental programming error or something. Regardless, your run will be awesome, Sami. Keep up the great work.

Now the egg thing is good as I can get it. I shoot first egg and couple of frames later shoot other two in a row. MezzoDragon: Thanks =)
