First draft -Plays on the hardest difficulty -Takes no damage -Aims for fastest time -Manipulates luck Very easy game, very linear. It was also a lot of fun to run through, which I managed to do in one sitting. Most of the lost time could probably be made up by luck-manipulating the bosses, I think. Then there's level 7, which is altogether terrible. There are two glitches in level 1. First, the zombie that jumps through the window. Hard to see, but it seems to turn into the ice-shard icon. I managed to beat the second glitch to the end of the level this time around. Any comments? Suggestions? Empty praise?

Just finished watching the first report. A couple of things I noticed: 1. In the train section, at the second door, it seems to take you longer to break it down than the other doors do; perhaps you could eliminate that slight delay. 2. You seem to make an extra, unnecessary stroke at the end of the ectoplasmic boss battle. It could be necessary and I somehow didn't notice, so if that's true, let me know. Second report: You make the boss battle here pretty entertaining with quick strokes to keep the hands off the screen most of the time. The boss' death animation here is distinctly Phantoon-esque. :) Third report: This is the best level yet. The music here goes so perfectly with the mood of the level, and the way you bounce the character in time with the music is a great touch. Fourth report: You appear to get slightly stuck on one of the beginning steps; the jump could have been made a bit cleaner. The boss battle in this stage is very clean. Fifth report: While the way you dodge the enemies in this stage is cool, it might have been more entertaining if you had killed a lot of them. The stage moves to the right at a fixed speed, so you wouldn't have lost any time by dropping some of those witches. ;) Sixth report: Nothing in particular to comment about. Seventh report: A lot of optimization is needed in this level, but you seem to address that already in your post. General comments: Jumps in this movie could be optimized more (for example, not hitting walls when you jump [ex. stairs]), but for a "first draft," I found the movie to be very entertaining. :)

Yeah, I made about 10 of those throughout the game. Easy enough to hex them out. The jumping into walls is a pain. It'll take some frame advance to get the timing exactly right, especially in level 2 and 7. Thanks for watching. :)

Yeah, no clue what's going on in this game. But it was fun to watch nonetheless. Since I can't read Japanese (and even if I could, you skip all the cutscenes) I don't know what the hell is going on. I'm assuming the heroine is some sort of spirit hunter? But yeah, looks good, and first drafts can always be improved.

She's a "ghost sweeper," apparently. Joreishi (as in the title) means "exorcist." I can read Japanese fairly well, but I've never bothered to find out anything about the plot. I don't think anyone's attempted to translate this game. Maybe I'll take a stab at it after I finish the run? (Yeah, right.)

So is this run still alive?

I redid the first 2 levels a while back, and got through about 500 frames faster. I actually managed to stop the level 1 boss from doing his annoying teleport thing by doing some frame-perfect swinging. I still need to do a lot of tinkering with level 2. I have other things that take priority, though. I've begun working on rerecord support for MAME, along with 2 or 3 other projects that won't be done for a few months. So, yeah, I'll be working on it... eventually.
