Yes, SDA is where I was able to do my DKC2 102%. But a TAS of this is daunting; I'll consider it among my current 7 next projects to decide from. If I do this I probably would pick up where you left off, to save a bunch of time (I would of course practise to be as good as Spezzafer) but then we'd have another Castlevania: Dracula X movie... Eh I might improve the Dracula one, and YI 100% is too good not to have a run (plus I love 100% runs)

too bad your not doing this anymore spezzafer, the WIP itself is incredibly impressive. Well, comicalflop if you really want to do this I suggest you to do the first world trying to it faster or as fast as spezzafer, to get to know how the game works and how to do it as fast as possible and as entertaining as possible without losing speed. It would be bad if in the halfway trough the run it looses quality. I strongly recommend you to give a shot in this one, I think that you proved to all of us that you are capable of doing a great run if you really put yourself into it.

I just might do this... Yes I would obviously become very familiar with the game beforehand, since my MO is the more I redo the more I improve. I'm probably going to do many testruns of level 1 and such and most likely pick up where Spezzafer left off, if anyone has a problem with this let me know it's just that he got pretty far up to 4-3 and there is amazing stuff there OT, I just tested out all the other games in my sig, and got these results: Yoshi's Safari I have no idea why, but this game does not accept input in the emulator- I didn't know what the controls were, and therefore I could not do anything. So that game probably is a no go. Castlevania I tried out, seems fun, not as exciting/fast paced as I though, basically a SNES redo of the original NES Castlevania- maybe Morrison's movie can help, not sure if I want to do this one. Kirby 64 is a slightly slower version of Kirby Dreamland 3- I found very small differences, so playing both is probably what I'm going to do (since I'm themed and all.) Super R-Type initially seemed like just another gradius movie- I know it isn't, but the gameplay did not seem familiar to me so no. So unless I can find out how to work Yoshi's Safari, then that, Castlevania Dracula X and Super R-Type are off my list. I will attempt test runs of SMW2, and if I like the results I will bring it to completion.

No problem, I also think the same. spezzafer has done too great a job to just abandon. I will play around and get familiar with the game before I consider taking off from spezzafer's run. Is this fine with you?

If you get testruns better than mine by all means. Or we could work on it together for a 2 way completion (preferred, that'd be fun.) But aren't you working on Zelda ALttP? I noticed that's a very time intensive game with a large amount of rerecords, I just finished DKC2 with less intense TASes planned so I thought I'd try and tackle this since I have time on my hands. But up to you on whether you want to work on this together or for us to do testruns and see who's more suited.

I'd prefer to work alone for some reasons: 1. Time-zone inconsistencies. 2. With ALttP, I probably won't be contributing as much as you would. I've only considered taking off from spezzafer's run because it would be such a waste to abandon, and I've always wanted to do a side-scroller. As for ALttP, I am still working on it. If I end up doing Yoshi's Island as well, then it'd only be when I get bored with a certain part of ALttP or something holding me back from continuing. ALttP will get top priority in any case. Anyway, you can talk to me through AIM or MSN if you want to talk more about it.

1. Time zone inconsistencies shouldn't be a problem, I can work my schedule around yours most likely, or work on sections of levels and send WIPs to each other 2. With a run this intensive, I'd probably take it very slowly as well, and I might be working on other runs as well, so no worries we'd be in the same boat, and if I worked too fast bad quality would result. I think Yoshi's Island must be somethiing of a top priority, with the projected length and intensity of the action I don't think working on it occassionally will fly. Also, as a low priority project it will take beyond forever to complete. (PM me your AIM, the AIM link in people's profiles does not work for me.)

If someone finished spezzafer's run then would that one person get all of the credit for the run or would it be listed as being done by both spezzafer and that person? Personally I think spezzafer should get some credit for the run since he did make a large portion of it.

Erokky and I decided to try it together, so it'd be listed as three people. He is going to get a lot of credit, and hopefully he might help us in A) mastering the game and B) offering tactics. Probably tomorrow I'm going to download the individual (ach that'll take a while) levels at SDA. Edit: currently downloading all SDA levels of 4-3 and after

I've read through spezzafer's yi_tips.txt and have studied his input from earlier levels, and I have much doubts that I can do spezzafer's run justice. I won't know unless I try, and I'm about to attempt the next stage where spezzafer left off. I request that spezzafer share his opinion on my finished 4-3.

I'll quit while I'm ahead. This game is incredibly difficult. Good on you spezzafer for doing what you already have done to this game. Good luck comicalflop.

Yep, it's hard. I tried this game earlier but I just can't even begin to try to compare with spezzafer. He's my all-time most respected runner for this alone.

I'm throwing in the towel as well. Forget testrun of 4-3- I can't even do a decent test run of 1-1. Time and patience I have- skill at this game I don't.

That saddens me greatly. The existing run is my single favorite run on the site, and the WIP here looks even more beautiful. Oh, well... Rest in Piece, Yoshi's Island.

No, we just need to find another player as skilled as Spezzafer, or get him motivated to finish it (unlikely.)

As far as I can tell, he gave up on this because it was taking beyond too long, and he lost patience for it and had other stuff to do. We TASers do have normal lives.

As time goes on and I complete more TASes, if no one else does this I will truly spend a great amount of time to really see if I can complete this. Currently with workload picking up, working on other TASes and other stuff I cannot do this, but I promise to bring this back and fully try once I have more time and no other TAS projects.

Being unable to see the WIP of this 100% run causes me to break out into a cold sweat (the links are broken). I would really like to see what you have so far spezz...
