I'm having some troubles with recording any of the TASes with any of the emulators. Every time I make an .avi, the audio and video doesn't match. In the beginning they look just fine but at the end there's at least few seconds difference between video/audio (depends on how long movie you are recording). Im pretty sure the problem is not with codecs. I have tried many different ones (Tech Smith, Huffyuv, DivX, XviD, x264, + some others), but the same thing sappens with each and every one of them. I've also tried adjusting the emulators sound options, but with no luck as well. I'd be glad to help people here to encode some of the TASes, if somebody first helped me to overcome this problem. Another problem which I have encountered, is that I can't record an .avi which would be over ~1gb. This isn't such major problem at the moment, but if someone could help me in this one too, I'd be quite glad.
Which run should I encode next? :)

hmm.. i dont have that proplem anymore.. when im encoding with FCEU im using AVIzlib and ill encode it with x264 (mencoder) Sound & Video matches correctly on me.. and results are awesome

I had the same problem when I used FCE Ultra 98.12 and was able to figure out how to fix it. First you need to download the software 'VirtualDub'. After you generate your AVI file open it up in VirtualDub. Under the video menu select 'Frame Rate'. (Or press CNTRL-R). In the window that pops up, check the option titled "Change so video and audio durations match". In the Video and Audio menus, select 'Direct Stream Copy' as well. Now go to the file menu and select 'Save AVI as' and give you file a name. This will ensure that the audio and video synchs up properly. It has fixed every issue that I have had. For the 1 GB limit problem, make absolutely sure that whatever encoder you are using is NOT using the Legacy-AVI format. Legacy-AVI format only allows up to 1 GB of file size before it corrupts everything. The latest AVI format will allow up to 2 GB. If you still have problems, let me know and I'll post all of my settings in VirtualDub. That program is a godsend for creating AVI files and fixing any little bugs.

Thanks a lot, jdurg! The audio/video timing is now perfect. I'm going to concentrate on the 1gb problem later. Now I'll encode Boco's FF5 testrun. ;)
