Wiz n Liz would be nice to watch, as long as the run does not last too long (30 minutes of bunny collecting gets boring). Mega Bomberman might not be as interesting compared to the SNES runs (no invincibility at the beginning). I somehow don't like Shadow of the Beast (I wanna jump off/on ladders ^^). However, Exilant made a tas at speedruns.net, in case you want to see one. It is with the slightly easier Japanese rom, though. Still, a reason to tas it, is that according to wikipedia, the genesis port is very hard, only beaten by a few players.

I would tend to agree in terms of length, but I guess it depends on how entertaining it is.

Yeah, I saw that speedrun quite a while ago, which is why I think a tas would be good to see. Personally I could never beat it :(

The Sega Genesis port is considered by some to be one of the hardest video games of all time. This is due to a sloppy conversion; the original had a 50Hz refresh rate, but all Sega Genesis games had to have a 60Hz refresh rate due to being made for NTSC televisions. Accordingly, the conversion team increased the refresh rate to 60Hz, but did not change the amount of time each frame remained on screen, making it run 16.7% faster than the original
A game which runs faster than is meant to be? Excellent material for a TAS.

Here is the level scheme for Kid Chameleon http://www.opusgames.com/games/kidcam/kidcam.html Unfortunately, there is no no-teleport route, and no all-flag route. There is a route which only takes the main branch, but it's not clear to someone who hasn't seen the above scheme to tell what that means. So none of that is perfect. My suggestion is to make a movie which takes the route that features most flag endings, which is 51. Notice that this means going directly through the main branch except for Stage 4 (in which, ironically, all main-branch levels are played anyway).

Thanks for the map, but during the course of tasing the game, Nifboy already created a map available in the thread (where you better have posted first ;) ) or the game resources. Currently there are 2 runs worth mentioning: Truncated's published run using the 100k trick and a no warp run, which is in the thread, but I somehow can't find it. I don't remember exactly, except that Nifboy, Truncated and maybe Josh where somehow involved. I recommend watching it (I've seen it a dozen times already). I think there is no warpless run published as some goals tend to be a little bit arbitrary (least teleports, "main path", most flags,...). Also the only tasers that have the required knowledge, Truncated and Nifboy, seem not to be available so soon, as Nifboy hasn't tased for a while and Truncated has even difficulties to find the time to improve his run as he promised (*hintyhint* ;) ). So unless we get green light for publishing a second run of this game, a reasonable goal and a taser, you have to settle with the mentioned movie. ^^

Josh the FunkDOC is (was) also very knowledgeable, but he's not around anymore. What seemed like the best goals at the time were the maximum number of levels in the shortest time possible. As a judge, even though I'm biased on this game, that doesn't seem like too strange a goal. Josh had a very promising WIP of this.

A run finnished by entering the most amount of levels would be great yes. Except it'd be a bit awkward in a few places when you'd teleport into a level just to teleport back for the sake of entering it. I think 86 is the maximum you can reach in a single run.

Someone should do The Incredible Hulk. Hulk moves quite fast when he gains enough radioactivity and the enemies in this game really try to stop the player, which produces rather challenging situations at times. There are also many different attack moves, all of which are listed in GameFAQs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/genesis/file/586243/23039 I completed it once and found no major programming errors, although I managed to get stuck inside a wall in one level. I have not tested the SNES or SMS versions, so I don't know which one is the best to TAS.

I guess I'll go ahead and post this here, since I'm not actually going to do a TAS of it (therefore a topic would be a waste). The link is to version two of a "mock-TAS" of Wolverine: Adamantium Rage (far different than the SNES version). I think it does a pretty good job of showing the game's potential in this area, since Wolverine has a decent variety of moves and some good ones for increasing his movement speed (rolling and diving). Also worth noting is that I didn't know he could use his claws to climb ladders faster until Shinobi Shaw's stage (which I found out about by accident). Good potential for damage boosting to save time as well (Cyber's stage). Just thought I'd throw that out there, with the hope that someone gains enough interest in the game to do a TAS. :)

I mentioned on IRC that if it's possible to maintain Wolverine's horizontal velocity better, this could turn into a real screamer of a run. *sigh* If only I had infinite time to work on TASes, I'd love to take it up.

Does anybody know what the "SN" stands for in some of the Japanese roms? To me they seem inferior games compared to others, but that's all I know. There are nine of them in the Genesis game list: 16 Ton (SN) (J) Doki Doki Penguin Land MD (SN) (J) Hyper Marbles (SN) (J) Paddle Fighter (SN) (J) Putter Golf (SN) (J) Pyramid Magic (SN) (J) Pyramid Magic II (SN) (J) Pyramid Magic III (SN) (J) Pyramid Magic Special (SN) (J)

(SN)Sega-NET Game
Seems that it was an online service, but was only available for the Saturn and Dreamcast. So maybe these were crappy games that didn't deserve their own category in the GoodRom set, and just got lumped into the Genesis section?

It seems that GameFAQs has no entries for these games. Maybe they should be removed from the list completely? They are bad games anyway.

I doubt, that Knuckles would bring much variety to a sonic 2 tas. His gliding and climbing abilities are rather slow and fit intuitively more the sonic 3 level layouts imo. The only differences that come to my mind, are the faster door trick in chemical plant 2 and climbing into some barrels in metropolis. Also, some walls are different (e.g. nitsuja's route for Emerald Hill 1 is not possible, as the wall after the shield monitor is concrete). Knuckles' ability to retain rings after bonus stages would make an all emeralds run considerable, however, tails would be missing and there already exists such a run (S+K3). Yet, I would be glad to be proven wrong.

Devil Hunter Yohko is one of the hardest platformers for the MD and it has a nice demonic atmosphere and great music. Seems fit for a run.

I completely agree on that one. The graphic design is unique, the levels are short and boss fights are interesting.

It's on my list for later in the year:) Do you have any idea how many levels there are, or have any sort of estimate of how long a decent run would be? There's absolutely no information about the game anywhere online.

Sega CD games I would like to see / make, although they would probably be "bad": Night Trap Adventures of Willy Beamish Kriss Kross You Make the Video Penn & Teller's Smoke and Mirrors (Desert Bus)
