My 0% run has gotten a lot of positive feedback, so I'm planning a 100% run now. I already have plans for my first visits to the main deck, Sector 1 (SRX) and most of Sector 2 (TRO). I currently cannot decide when to get this missile tank: Should I get this during my first visit to Sector 2, or should I wait until I have screw attack? The two passages to the left are both blocked by respawning bomb blocks. EDIT: I've put up my WIP file on my website. Download it at http://www.kraftfam.org/~david/fusion100percent.zip. The movie file stops after entering Zazabi's room. Savestate 1 skips the long, boring intro. Savestate 2 brings you to the end of the computer conversation in Sector 2(TRO).

Does this run include getting the "easter egg"?

I don't have any plans to do so at the moment. I just can't see myself going out-of-the-way to see another computer conversation.

It would be cool, it's freaking hard to get. Still, I've done it.

Yay for a 100% run! Can't help you with your problem, but I just wanted to say that I'm already looking forward to this.

If going there both times waste just as much time, I'd recommend going there lastly, if you can screw attack the bomb blocks, that'll help, and if you can't, you'll still have Power bombs on the second visit.

Hm. Perhaps a good rule of thumb to use would be that if you can get an item at two different times, and both times will take up the same amount of time to get, and if not having that item won't slow you down any, then get the item at the later time. As for the secret message, well, that's up to Megafrost. Since it's a 100% run, then perhaps it might be nice to include it. It's not like anyone would complain that the run takes longer with it, the best part of 100% runs is to show off things like this. Especially since it's so darn tricky to get while playing normally. But he can decide on that later. If it takes TOO much time to get (especially if it causes him to miss other items and backtrack for them) then it can be skipped. A matter of aesthetics, I guess.

Loved your 0% run, and I'm sure I'll love this as well. I second Spoony_Bard regarding the "rule of thumb". I'd get the easter egg if I were you.

It will be way out-of-the-way if I use the shinespark to get the secret message. But...it wouldn't take me a whole lot of time if I angled my missile to freeze those things outside the data room. If I get the secret message, I'll be getting it the "alternate" way. Otherwise it'll slow me down too much. As far as the item goes, I think I'll leave it for later. I think I might be going through that room both ways with screw attack(which way I'm travelling does matter, going up is generally easier than going down).

I would suggest to get all upgrades as soon as possible if they are of any use to you... i.e. No point wasting time getting it if you already have enough missiles to beat the next boss. This is from someone who just read that post and used some simple logic without bothering to go find that area and check how hard it is to get, though. So take my comment lightly :P

I don't know the game enough to help you, but I also say good luck for this 100% run. I loved the 0% one, it was very good ;)

I've put up the first WIP file. I'm sure y'all have been wanting to see my progress so far. My original post was edited to include the website. Here are some comments I have, with the relevant frame counts:
15388-15636: This vertical shaft was scaled exactly 32 frames faster than my 0 percent run. 17021-17147: Managed to cut off 2 frames here. 20793-20820: Cut off another 2 frames here. 25485-25525: I delayed 4 frames here to manipulate the boss door. Easy to do since there are no other random factors coming up. As an additional plus, delays at the computer are difficult to notice and do not count towards my in-game time. 26537-26622: I don't know how, but this part was 1 frame slower. 26797: Up to here, I am exactly 37 frames ahead of my 0% run(35 if you don't count luck manipulation). The two runs separate here, so I'll no longer be comparing them. 29000-29500: pwnage 33333: I figure it is fastest to get this missile tank now. It is best to get this while on my way up because it is easier to go up than down. Because the 2 platforms just outside are close together, I would get less benefit out of using high jump there than I would by using it to grab that other platform from the left. 38087: I delay 4 frames here to manipulate the first atmospheric stabilizer. It's impractical to manipulate anything else from here. 40332: Again, getting this now is more of an up vs. down issue. Going up is easier, remember. 41300-41334: I tried angling my missiles and getting them in, but I was unable to do so. Besides, the missiles start off so slow, I think it's better to get in this thing's face. 43434: It's actually faster to have this stabilizer going in the opposite direction when you come in, but the 2 frames for luck manipulation cancel out the 2 frames I would gain here. 44855: The next time I come through this room, I'll be building up a shinespark along the bottom. Since I'm already up here anyways, it's better to get the missile now. 46373-46891: It's 12 frames faster to run through the water the entire way. But I needed to delay 12 frames to manipulate the boss door. So instead of making a (very noticeable) pause, I took this alternate route.
Any constructive criticism appreciated.

Hahahaha, that first coreX barely got a slash off... I really wish I could find something to say that could help you with this, but it seems that you've got it all under control. Very impressive. What is with all of those random shots, though? You did it in the first vertical shaft, and I'm guessing it gave you a nice altitude bump, but then you did it randomly after the first extra missile pack. PS I appreciate how you made the Charge Beam fight a lot more entertaining. edit: I'm probably wrong, but I think you missed a missile pack right after the Charge Beam fight.

About the missile pack I think he wanted to take it the second time he gets through that room, since he will have to in order to get power bomb and the E-tank. Correct me if I am wrong of course. I found some moments a little more entertaining, but one thing bothers me : Didn't you try to shoot the 3rd ventilator diagonally?

Zurreco>What is with all of those random shots, though? Fusion submission>There are a lot of times when I fire a seemingly random shot, but each of those shots actually has a purpose. Turning around is faster if you shoot 1 frame after pushing the opposite direction, and I can't come out of a flip after doing a wall jump unless I shoot.

Sorry if someone already mentionned it in your 0% thread, but I think I read somewhere that shooting when landing can make you land faster or something... When you're jumping to a higher platform. Just thought I'd mention it Nice work on your new run so far =)

Doesn't pushing up work?

Zurreco: I left that missle pack for later. It'll be a whole lot easier to grab with wave beam, gravity suit and power bombs. Qlex: If it's at all possible to shoot diagonally into the atmospheric stabilizer without getting hit, it would probably require 2 or 3 jumps to do so. I think it's better to throw myself into it the way I do. KDR_11k: Not after a wall jump. I press up to come out of it when I can, but when I can't then I shoot.

Oh woops. I said the 3rd but it's the second actually, the one that you can shoot from the ground. Sorry.

Maybe I used the wrong word choices for frames 41300-41334. I did try, but I couldn't and then figured it would be faster to be in its face anyways.

What's happening with the run? It looked promising, but I didn't see any updates for a long time. I hope there will be updates soon.

Laziness and procrastination are setting in again. The real part that gets me is that, after Arachnus, the boss fights really aren't going to be all that different until I get to Yakuza. :\ I'll see if I can get something up today.
