The WIP is indeed very nice. I thought that combining the 4 runs togethers will boring. You've proved me wrong. I will look forward to the complete run. Thanks!

I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is: we are progressing nicely! We have just completed the fourth levels at all megaman games. (possibly) Bad news is: we won't release any more wips. It was already announced that we would stop releasing them after the next, but we decided now that the previous wip was the last one we make public. The final product will be a lot more entertaining if you watch the run as a whole, and it will have more surprises. Thanks for your replies here so far, they are always motivating. :)

I can hardly wait to see this multitude of TASes. The WIPs were highly entertaining. But since I am also here for another reason, I'll come out with it. I was wondering if anyone is familiar enough with EarthBound Zero to TAS it. Someone suggested I ask in a Megaman thread. ;3

I avoided even looking at this thread for exactly that reason. But, if it helps motivate, as soon as I get a computer that could possibly display such a movie properly, this will be be the first one I watch.

yes the WIPs were quite impressive....like fine art being created out of chaos...when this is all said and done i'm sure i'll be floored. P.S. I tend to get a little sentimental when it comes to Mega Man runs.......(sniff)(sob)

Megaman 4 was the first Megaman game I ever played. And I'll tell you, it hooked me on the series, heh. After getting the Megaman Anniversary Collection for the Gamecube, I have beaten 1-8 now. Plus the other two games that are more fighter style. I am eagerly anticipating the release of this TAS, just to see if they all sync up at the end. Probably be about a 40 Minute TAS, but it's bound to be highly entertaining. :3

I promise you that no way in hell will they sync in the end. My strong feeling is: Mega Man 3 will finish first, followed by Mega Man 6 and your precious Mega Man 4 will finish last :( So Im sorry to disappoint you and a few others who I know would liked this to sync in the end.

A quick update: since the last time Baxter told about our progress, we have now terminated Magnet Man, Hard Man, Dust Man, Skull Man, Charge Man, Wave Man, Tomahawk Man and Yamato Man. In another words, we've played a bit more than 13 minutes folks :) Ideally, this project will be finished before summer.

Obviously the planning is all on you guys, but just as a personal thing, I'd much rather see tight coordination between the games than overall speed - a moment where all four games kill a boss on just about the same frame would be awesome and worth even several seconds of additional time, if it could be managed. Probably preaching to the choir here, though, I'm sure you'll do whatever you can manage. Looking forward to this and good luck. :)

The last two bosses we killed happened to sync perfectly. The music that starts before megaman jumps in the air to get powered up has only a few frames of difference, and it sounds really funny. Besides it not being technically possible to sync up all 4 games on killing 4 bosses (some games are clearly faster to play, for instance, megaman 3 is more than half a stage ahead of megaman 4 and 5) it also wouldn't be very economic. It would mean that all 4 games would have cutscenes so there would be notthing we could do but wait, while normally, cutscenes come in very handy to make some good progress on the other megaman games, since there are 1 or 2 games less that need to be controlled due to cutscenes.

Oh, yeah, didn't think about that. Two at once is pretty nice, though. I was just thinking about it in terms of general coherence as much as possible, but with four games at once, you'd pretty much just have to pick your battles. Good luck with it.

News update: Ladies and gentlemen, Top Man, Dive Man, Crystal Man and Knight Man are destroyed. Which means a bit more than 15 (almost 55 000 frames) minutes has been completed.
