Indeed, fixed. Sorry about that.

I'm almost tempted to post my own ripoff Mood-o-table, but that wouldn't be any fun with confusing people as to what my ripoffs actually mean. Hint: They're not all the same.

Damnit. Now I'm tempted to make a #11 that's just turned into a pile of ash. I should just construct a table but leave the definitions as "???" until someone gets one, then fill it in. It'd be more amusing, at least.

Give me my old posting mood from many years ago, and I'll add a dozen more once I quadruple my posts and even think of a good picture to start with ... then again, I should probably contribute more anyway, hehe. The new "Avatar preview" on the left when posting just shows a broken image for me, since I still have none ...

Very good, thank you.

secrets disagreement normal agreement? wicked matter-of-factly Anywhere close? (extrapolation from 1 or more samples) I must say, your choice of using the colored helmet with an url stub below, greatly confuses me.

I guess he wants to be just like you when he grows up.

"Hm, I already made a initial ripoff of his avatar... I should try just making it as close as a clone as possible". So I did. Besides, ripoffs are unoriginal and unfunny, so I accomplished my goal with this avatar idea.

It isn't a "stub", technically. It really is my homepage of sorts, made to replicate your own. (Cutting it out would be easy enough, since it's in the same spot on each image, but...) disagreement -> general displeasure agreement -> pleasure, amusement matter-of-factly -> confusion (?) So much for being mysterious, but you were generally correct (but a bit too specific; mine are more generalized) Edit: Avatar is now flip/rotation-proof (although quite boring)

[img_left]http://www.authmann.de/misc/avatar_emotions.png[/img_left] my avatar might be known, that image has been floating around the net for more than 10 years. I use it because it's cute, because it's easy to identify and remember me by, and because it reminds me of my first experiences on the net. My current avatar, the default one, is exactly that gif, flipped so he faces left. I flipped it upside-down and modified it to get the tired one. The 3 others are frames from a low-color gif animation of the dog running, to which I added proper shading and the ball. The dog leaning on Bisqwit's helmet is still low-color because I drew it before the playful guy. Bisqwit, if you want to get that ugly low-color pixelized thing with the unrealistic shadow off of you, you should give him a cookie :)

I don't even like dogs, but I simply can't refuse that request. The limit has been lowered by 150 units, resulting in 350 being the new number.

Instructions to use the mood-variant avatar feature: 1. Create a set of avatars, each for a different mood. Number them (in the filename), for example image1.png is normal, image4.png is happy, image3.png is bored, etc. 2. Upload them to a webspace. It is important that the webspace you upload to, allows allows uploading them to a directory whose name does not vary, and that the filenames will be exactly as you specify. 2b. Now their URLs should be something like http://web.url/to/image1.png , http://web.url/to/image4.png and http://web.url/to/image3.png . 3. Edit your profile page. Put the URL of the image into your profile, but replace the number with a $, such as for example http://web.url/to/image$.png 3b. Done! 4. Now when you post posts or edit them, you can select a mood on the posting form. 5. If you cannot comprehend these instructions, empty the mood avatar link from your profile so that it doesn't accidentally cause problems. You can use the numbers to denote whatever moods you wish, but the posting form labels them as I described in my post on the first page of this thread.

I take it these are pretty much the same instructions as having a random avatar (minus selecting things), or is that something else entirely? Not planning to use it here either way, but just curious.

My avatar has exploded. At least, until I think of a good idea to rip off and mindlessly copy, so enjoy the boring "x"es...

Thank you. :) I'm not the dog-type myself, but this image lacks all the negative aspects of real dogs. He's not aggressive, wouldn't trash my place, doesn't smell and never requests a walk during snowstorms. He's also quite intelligent, watch the new trick I taught him! Combined with the sentimental value I mentioned, I just like him. Also, I never found an image of a cat as fitting as this.

Your mood is now a combination of playful and tired/unhappy/dead? :P

no, this one isn't dead, he's just lying on his back, playing. You can notice he's alive because his ear is still in the air. The ear of the dead guy is flat on the floor. but yeah, taking that image as a basis for an opposite mood wasn't the best idea. but actually I am playing around right now, because lack of sleep prevents me from coding.

Puzzlingly, when I put http://lag.thps3.net/img/mood/meowth$.png in my signature box, I don't see any new mood thing on the posting form. What am I doing wrong?

You don't have 350 posts, and it is not supposed to go into signature box.

D'oh, I didn't mean signature, I meant avatar... anyway, post count eh? How very arbitrary. :)

Dogs bark, drool and smell. And compared to cats, they are not very springy (i.e. they have stiffer joints). Which limits how you can handle them when you want to pet them.
