The questions is in the title... So is one available since there is a lot of games that could be TASed. The one game I would like to do is the Super Monkey Ball, since it would be funny to see someone suicidally completing every stage, but you could also bet your life on someone wanting to beat Metroid Prime in under an hour. [Title edited by Bisqwit; If one uses "search" for Game Cube, they wouldn't find this thread if it had only "Gc" in its title.]

Actually if there was one, I would've already started to make a Metroid Prime movie.

There isn't even a decent Game Cube emulator yet. Check Zophar's domain: http://www.zophar.net/gc.html

Although there's no such emulator, there has already been a TAS of a GameCube game.

I've seen that movie and it was very cool, but it could certainly be improved, I think Captain Falcon would be a better choice overall. The movie didn't use the easy giant DK win strategy, but I guess the movie tries to go for a WTF factor than anything else. The furthest I've ever got with one life is the metal bros stage. I managed to get Mario on 350+ damage but he still wouldn't die. The furthest point I've manged to capture on video is me getting up to the Samus battle with one life, but its more about manipulating AI than being skillful at the game.

One of my favorite games is Metroid Prime. IT has the most replayability of any recent metorid game and I would love to see what a TAS of this game would be like.... But thats the thing... Is there even a gamecube Emulator out there? Are there any plans for the development of one? I'd kill to have a frame advanced play through of the game!

There is an emulator out there called Dolphin (named after the codename of the Gamecube). But don't expect TAS capabilities to come to it anytime soon. We need to get it going at least at decent speeds first.
Taking over the world, one game at a time. Currently TASing: Nothing

http://www.dolphin-emu.com/news.php As many of you know, Dolphin is now open source. They are seeking developers to their team, so if you have the slightest knowledge or feel you could help them, please join them. The more people who help them the sooner we can discuss tasing gamecube (and wii games, yes, Dolphin is also aiming to emulate Wii games) games. Edit: I think this topic belongs to the Other emulators section.

Posting a heads-up about this emulator, hoping more discussion will take place here. The compatibility of Dolphin looks quite promising according to this list: http://www.dolphin-emu.com/list.php It's a dual emulator, it emulates both Wii and GameCube. Which makes sense, because Wii was designed backward compatible with GameCube. I have no idea how its TAS support fares, though, but it is open source, which is a very promising thing.

Now that is fan-freakin-tastic! Though it makes me sad that some games on there can not be TASed, at least for the moment.

A reminder to developers... real-time play support is not a required objective to start TASing. Accurate emulation is far more important than real-time play. Because TASes are usually made in slow motion (frame advance) anyway; AVI/MKV constructed from the playback can be made to play at full (normal) speed even if the emulator ran at miniscule FPS rate when it was recorded.

technically speaking, NO games can be TASed at the moment, due to lack of tools (frame advance, movie record/playback, etc). But this development does look strong and promising.

Did I say TASed? I meant to say played.

Too bad the few games that do run on this emu you need a crazy good computer to run it at anything worth while.

TASing capabilities for this console sounds awesome, but I think the amount of potential for the games on it has been vastly overstated. I'd love to TAS Metroid Prime (me and about 10 - 20 others) and seeing (maybe doing) Super Mario Sunshine, Eternal Darkness and Timesplitters 2. I think the majority of other cool games on this console would end up being over long for most people to TAS or watch, which is a real shame.

Ugh. I can barely tell the difference between the "Perfect" and "Intro" icons.

SSBM plays at full speed on my computer. It's the only game I play using this emulator.

It would be nice if you could post your computer's specifications. i.e. processor (speed, cores, AND model), RAM (speed and amount), graphics card, etc.

I believe you just have to get one of these LG dvd drives, and it will be able to read the discs. Then, copy/paste. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/471073 I don't know if it works, I've never tried it myself.
