I've made quite some progress. I just entered Julius room, 7570 frames ahead of my first run. Hopefully I'll be able to finish today or tomorrow. Only 6 souls to go :3.

It seems I'm determined to ensure you don't publish this year... Macaroni pie (sorry, a) I would have worked on this sooner, but I didn't have time, and b) I didn't expect you to progress so quickly...) Edit: now with more dead medusa head.

Strange, I can't load your movie. "Unsupported VisualBoyAdvance save game version 13" The file is in the same folder as the emulator and I am using Save Type -> Automatic Any help? Edit: Nevermind. I fixed it.

The glitched soul/level up screen on Arc Demon might (probably not) be hexable if the Medusa Head remains untouched. Probably worth checking out.

Huh? I don't quite understand you. Do you mean trying to maintain the same medusa head pattern as the current submission? Not attacking the medusa head that I do? Not killing it as in the second version? I didn't try jumping up to the platform without medusa head but I don't think it's possible unless you can kill the arc demon faster. The problem is you can only just barely get to the second platform in time.

Please excuse double post. I thought it was high time we had a resources page, so I created one. It's only a first draft, so I'd appreciate if you could all look it over. In particular, it's lacking much information about heavy glitches (the 0HP sleep glitch or other OOB glitches) and has nothing on julius mode at the moment. Have I missed anything? Can you help explain any of it better? Do you have any good examples in microstorage I can add to the article? EDIT: updated link to url without colon.

This allows one backstab per 15 frames instead.

Pretty sure backstab is used in more places than just TF2...

Looks really nice, I took the liberty to fix some numbers and spelling errors. There are however no notes about hitting before backdashing to increase speed :'<. Also, Trollolol. I also added the memory value for current experience.

Huh? What? I know nothing about this. Partly the reason we need the page :)

Stick it in! Re: black panther, when I measured this afternoon using gocha's rng lua script, I could swear it was 2 rng/frame, not 1/frame. I tested in a save room so there were no other factors. Or am I measuring wrong somehow?

I'm making a small update atm, so please don't edit anything just yet.

oh, and it turns out that having a colon in the url is a Bad Thing. How do i move the page to the non-colon version?

Make a new page for it, transfer the content, and delete the old page. Also, my edit is done, so feel free to contribute further and mind the capitals on proper names this time. ;) Also, you might want to add parameters to the memory address table (byte size, signed/unsigned).

Eek triple post! I got a PM from a chinese TASer called zhangsongcui who pointed out you can save time by using hippogryph through the Chaos door. Here's my take on it (quick and dirty, not guaranteed optimal), it saves 4 frames over Kriole's recent run. Surely it must be hexable? zhangsongcui, please post a message here and say hello to everyone!

Hello everyone! First post here. I think not only the Chaos door, but also Headhunter, Big Golem and maybe other bosses that trick works. And I think if the Blocking Mail is useful? Pro: you don't need to wait to kill some enemies. Cons: have to open the menu to change equipments, get less experience, etc. Oh another small tricks. There is one frame that after defeating the first form of Chaos can hit boss. For example in current all-soul run, press B in frame 88787, you will decrease Chaos' HP by 20 points. You can also press Up+L to perform a hippogryph for fun if 20 damages cannot save time. If you turn left, press Up+B to set a Red Minotaur hitting boss twice.

Blocking Mail, if received on the way to Balore, might save time at least by skipping the second Succubus on the way to Graham. I'm sure you can get enough exp for the next level up from the golems and the minotaur you still have to fight later, after which it becomes largely irrelevant except for the two glitched level-up screens that will have to be made up for in other places (Demon Lord/Stolas?) somehow. It will probably also allow killing a few enemies (Weretiger comes to mind) without stopping or by attacking them from behind (like Final Guard, if that is even possible). Might also be able to block Graham's fireballs allowing for a more consistent hit rate. Yeah, that is indeed viable; curious that it's been overlooked since pirate's glitched TAS. It seems that the 100% run already has a few seconds of potential improvements since the 11 minute mark. :o Also, nice job on the article, rhebus, cool to see that you've picked up formatting nuances!

Thanks for the reply! I'm happy if it does save time. There's an idea that I have thought for a long time. Is a boss rush speed run acceptable(glitch and glitchless)? An all-soul save has been available. A ultimate save for BR speed run is not so hard to make because you just have to hunt for some useful equipments. I think a BR speed run aims for in-game time can be very entertaining due to some new tricks that usually cannot see in normal runs.

I think I've seen a boss-rush speedrun. It involved a lot of pausing to switch souls, to the extent that the actual action was impossible to follow. The use of the Chaos Ring also rendered resource management moot. You can get impressively low times, but I don't think the run would appeal to anyone who isn't deeply familiar with the game already.

About BR that skips bosses(glitched), the fastest one I know for now is 00:41:61 ver. made by klmz, and due to some new tricks discovered it can also be improved a little. http://v.youku.com/v_playlist/f2734669o1p0.html It's a Chinese website so I don't know if you can watch it. As for a BR speedrun, I think people like to see how fast the bosses can be defeated more but how fast the bosses can be skipped, right? To Derakon: I agree. But in order to use new tricks, switching souls and equipments is necessary. If you just aims for real-time, it will be more like a normal run that you just see a big axe circling and circling. It is very boring that keeping repeating one thing. I think switching souls very fast also makes people exciting, doesn't it?
