I haven't seen your WIP yet, but if you didn't get Great Armor's soul, that would speed anything up. If you're using Ronginus with Lubicant, Great Armor, and mixing in Red Minotaur shots, I'm pretty sure you can't do anything else to save time. Just dance on his fists when you fight him, and you'll be fine.

How should it save time?
It may save time getting the spear cause you have to kill at least one Lubicant, Erinys and everything that comes in your way before you get it. Mystletain is rather weak at that point, and rather inconvenient to use at those monsters (they're all airborne), so I don't know how much time you would lose killing them without Laevatain. BTW, still haven't recieved the prog. :\ Are you sure everything was ok when you sent it?

Yes, I have great armor's soul. And I doesn't think balore's life will be long :) Ok, with lv17 I my str value is increased by 2, with lubicant by 4. Int is increased by 1. There's nearly no difference. @moozooh: it seems e-mail doesn't work /: And: in the erinys room the only enemies to kill are medusa heads which you can kill with a single attack. In the lubicant room there lubicants, yes, but laevatain won't be a help.

Nope, it didn't. Try uploading it on some free host other than rapidshare, I'll snatch it and rehost. Edit: Alright, here's the link to Yrr's damage calculator.

Nice proggy... but I think you forgot the "about" box (could be another button at the bottom, besides "help" and "back"). It should say that the software was developed by you and that it was based upon that faq and maybe visit tasvideos.org etc... And you call them "red soul" and "blue soul"... shouldn't they be "Bullet Soul" and "Guardian Soul"? The images would help the people who doesn't know their actual names... heh... and what's with that "poisened" (don't you start with l33tspeak now...)?? And you forgot that poison affects Soma's defense as well.

It's funny how you completely missed the "Calculate damage done on Some" line. :D

I just used the algorithm which stands in this faq, and ok, I didn' test this value. But enemy's damage should be nearly correct. About my run: I always need 5 hits with laevatain or 7 with mystletain to kill the lubicant. I need 3 hits to kill erinys, laevatain or mystletain. At lv16 I need 30 hits to kill balore, at lv17 I need 31 and 32 at lv16. So, only 1-2 hits difference. In total let's say 4 hits. Even if a hit costs 2 secondes it wastes time. So, I REALLY doubt it's time-saving. Don't forget, getting it costs a quarter of a minute...

That was what we're talking about... =P and you forgot to add "poisoned" to the status list, because it affects Soma's defense too.

Oh, damn. No, I didn't forget the poisened status, I just don't how to calculate it. Seems I should update it... I just met the first minotaur, so if you want to convince me to get laevatain, do it now. Edit: Version 2.1 of my program is now available.

Ok, here. Today I'll try to make the stupid minotaur give me his soul. During the week I hadn't much time.

Does it matter? And btw, wtf should this at the front page?? Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow in 12:xx, obsoletes Atma's.... Why obsoleted? These runs are different ones! If not, I can stop my run, why should I make if it's not published??

Try going to http://www.tasvideos.org, see the difference. ;)

Read the judgement details in at the bottom of the submission text, the explanation provided by Truncated is the result of the IRC conversation we had at that time. What I really don't understand now is why mess with all these obsoletions if Zurreco is still working on the warpful any% AoS run, so in the end, we'll have 4 AoS runs in any case: 1) any%, glitchless, damageless (by Yrr); 2) any%, warpful (by Zurreco); 3) 100%, warpful (?), hard mode (by pirate_sephiroth); 4) any%, Julius (by Atma). All of them are different enough to have their own goals and entertainment values.

I don't think pirate_sephiroth's movie should obsolete Atma's movie. If anything, the Julius run should not have been accepted. That would lower the amount of movies to 3, any, low% warp, and 100%. Yrr, I would suggest that you not do any extra work until this is all figured out.

Yeah, in fact I was of the same opinion (with the only difference that the Julius run should have been moved to concept demos category). Of all the runs currently published and/or in production, the Julius one clearly is the most boring, and it lacks many of the tricks that could only be performed by Soma. I think Yrr should be safe about his run, because the only run that could possibly obsolete it is a normal difficulty, no damage, no warps run, as no-one has said otherwise (umm, are there any judges willing to assure us of it here?). Furthermore, as of now, it is the most technically superior run that has had some significant (as it's more than halfway done) progress in the past few months.

Uhh, according to what Truncated decided for pirate_sephiroth's run, Yrr's run will not be accepted. What can beat Yrr's run is, apparently, any run that beats it in completion time/style, regardless of what glitches it uses.

Uh… what?

I can't see how does that mean Yrr's run won't get accepted.

I think Truncated meant that a normal difficulty version of the warp run would obsolete pirate's, because his is hard mode and uses SRAM. Since Yrr is not using warps, his run won't obsolete pirate's, since it will be slower.

No-one was working on a warp run at the point the decision was being made. Moreover, if I remember correctly, no-one even thought about it. The run that was supposed to obsolete p_s's was Atma's v2 that later was taken over by Yrr.

Umm, I was and still am currently working on a normal warp run. This should be common knowledge by now.

For what it's worth, I had no clue you were working on a normal run.

That's the speed! You could at least update your own topic while you're at it. ;) The last meaningful message states you're waiting for a hacked emulator to monitor the randomness, if I'm not mistaken.
