I've written a patch (currently for unix/linux only) to support rerecording with snes9x. If anyone wants it let me know and I'll post it in the thread. I haven't tested it a whole bunch but it seems to be working for me.

If I'm not mistaken there's already a thread here for snes9x rerecord. The availability of a Linux port is great to hear, but I'd actually contact the devs (Nach cmoes to mind) to see if you're doing double work. I mean seriously, no need to re-invent the wheel. Also, I'm sure if your method is innovative/ >= the way the devs decided to implement it... you might even be added as a contributor :) Thanks for the info, and as usual, free links are always welcome. Edit: verbosity and spelling (since the edit counter appears to be broken)

The next release of snes9x (due at the end of the month) will have this feature fully supported on both windows and linux.

I've gotten it working on windows now also, but unfortunently, have no where to host it and it's still not at all polished. Anyway, if anyone wants either the windows executable or a copy of the patch, let me know.

In resume, SpoonyBard, you have done this job for nothing, because it already exist. How about a Mame 32 or Visual boy advance with re-record?

VBA will be awesome... as there are hundreds of games waiting to be timeattacked. Megaman Zero, anyone?

Yes. Regardless, Spoony, I'd like to see your source code, if it's ok for you.

Seeing as it is apparently all academic at this point, do you want all of it? I have the unix stuff already prepared in patch format, but I'd have to go through and remember which files I had modified for the windows version. Also, how do you want me to send it to you? The unix patch is ~350 lines, so I'm not sure if I should be sticking in this thread. Edit: I guess I could just zip up the whole directory and mail it to you if you don't mind looking through it for what I changed. The windows version is extra bad for a number of reasons, mostly because I didn't figure out how the joypad system for quite some time.

I looked at the Visual Boy source a little the other day, and might make a run at it this weekend, but I might be busy. Are you sure that no one else is working on it?

I myself have looked at VBA a bit, but don't plan on working on it for a while yet.
