After watching the Eggerland video again I decided to try my hand at the GB Lolo games as my first TAS attempt.
There are two versions of the GB game: the Japanese version and the European version. The differences are explained on
this site as follows:
"- compared to the Japanese version (50 maps total: 10 levels with 5 maps), the European version has a different beginning story, 95 more maps (145 maps total: 5 levels with 14 maps, 2 levels with 8 maps, 10 levels with 5 maps, 1 level with 3 maps, & 5 pro maps), a more practical solution-viewing option, Super Gameboy support, and for some reason, the BGM changes based upon the direction Lolo is facing and the type of surface he is standing on"
I should also note that the (E) version contains much longer story screens.
Anyway, I chose the (J) version because a) I'm lazy and probably won't even finish these 50 stages, and b) you get right into the puzzles faster.
This current WIP ends after world 2 (Coffee Cup) is completed.
World 2 is where it starts getting tricky. If anyone sees any route changes that could have improved it do let me know. I tried each level with as many routes as I could invent. Except 2-5. I still need to experiment with that one.
And if you're curious,
this is what the (E) version is like. The movie ends after level 1-5. If you really prefer this version, I'll kill the (J) version.
