That was pretty entertaining, moreso than the any% run. The bonus levels are fun to see optimized, and I'd rather see some of the levels than shortcut barrels every course. Keep up the good work.

Snorlax: Only the first two worlds have warp barrels, so the any% is going to be more interesting to watch later on. Magnet: Hehe, my avatar is a big lol. I don't know if you noticed, but I've changed the bear coin route. I didn't grab the one in Murky Mill, was a loss of 15 frames now when I didn't have Ellie with me. I'm going to take one in Tidal Trouble, going to hex in that later, which cost me around 6-7 frames instead. Also, could you please send me the other list with bear coins you had? I'm currently having huge problems with the ass monkeys in Barrel Shield, at the end of the level. I can't believe how you managed to spawn the nut so early. Even if I copy your frames I won't get the same result *SIGH*. I dont want to lose these 4-7 frames :'(.

Delay the frames when you enter the stage until you get what you want. I think that could be easily done with a hex editor, and simply inserting one frame into a new .smv, and if it doesn't work, insert 2 into a new .smv, etc. etc. It worked with me for Mischief Makers in order to get the perfect luck in a particular stage.

I shall look for the lists and give them to you, probably tomorrow. To change the luck with the nuts, I would change the side of the rope I jumped up. Since it's slightly slower to jump up one side than the other, this can change the frame that you reach the monkey, and save a ton of frames overall not having to wait for the nut (as it will not even be there if you reach the monkey at the right frame). In other words, if the monkey happens to throw his nut while he's in the tiny margin at the top of the screen after the monkey's throw is loaded and before the nut is loaded, no nut will appear. Unless that's not what you're talking about, in which case, I'll probably just talk to you tomorrow about it!

Well, I fixed the nut part, had to lose 1-4 frames though, not sure how many. But I got much better green banana bonus manipulation, over 30 frames saved there. But now I'm, more or less, stuck at the G. banana bonus at Riverside Race... Losing WAY TOO MUCH. Hate this game sometmies :(.

As long as there are green banana bonuses, nothing will be easy ;D. Going to try to enter the bonus at different frames. I have noticed that I could manipulate bananas in the bonus, at least sometimes, by holding a direction before the banana appears. Or something like that... It's quite weird and I haven't found out how it works yet. I could work more with the any% run meanwhile ;D.

Awesome fast and entertainment run Tompa, congratulations. What the level is DKC1 101% with Arne the Great progress?

The 101% is on hold until the any% run is done... And we are at Queen B (Which we have been at for like... 2 months soon) Arne has said that he is going to finish it, but he is too lazy to. The reason why we are still there is because we can't come up with something entertaining enough to do before the last hit :).

105% update. World 2 done 1189 frames ahead. Thanks to Kazooie for his childhood of killing the spider a different way than I did it :).

Well that's certainly an interesting way to kill the spider. And that's the first time I've seen Bobbing Barrel Brawl done without Ellie! I thought I had a question about Barrel Shield Bust-Up and its warp barrel, but thinking about it, the dk-koin would be too out of the way and not make things faster. So all in all, fantastic work!

Nice to see that someone is doing a better work than mine. I'm waiting to see the full movie when you finish it. Good luck to both, Tompa and ElectroSpecter. I really wanted to finish it myself, but RL get nice tricks on us sometimes...

Hi Nibelung, was awhile I last saw you in here=). We are currently at Demolition Drain-Pipe, which is a bitch to optimize because the speed changes a lot and we haven't found a proper speed address for it yet. ElectroSpecter is doing most of the level as he had better luck optimizing it so far the second bonus is "done".

Whew, that's a tricky one. Is the value indicated by 7E:051F of any use?

According with my profile, my last visit was at least one year ago. Too much trouble to have time to TAS. (And i'm in a translation project by now) I never knew how to scan for variable to find speed (yes, i tried), so that is a big "why i lost my thrill on the TAS". I'm perfectionist, and do a non-optimal run (knowing this fact) is like buy a Xbox by the price of a 360. In my run, i was planning to get 55 silver coins after i finished K3, so i could come back only once. I didn't advance enough to test the speed, but in my (insane) mind, i think its faster than get it with the gyrocopter, because that is the only time that i need to reenter any stage. Get the present and the 55 coins, back, buy both itens, trade the shell, get the flower, get the bowling ball, shoot yourself, and trade the mirror. I had an list of all the SC on all the stages until K3, so i could get a list of what-to-catch and what-to-avoid.

Nitsujrehtona: Just tried to use it. But it isn't that trustworthy apparently. I'm testing it at the end of the second bonus. If I jump after landing before the last stars, the address shows 3's when I'm in the air and five 2's when I'm landing, ending bonus at 409. If I'm not jumping the address will just 3's the whole way with some 4's before the coin, ending bonus at 411. That would be if the higher the number is, the slower are you going. But that isn't making sense when watching it through the level... Nibelung: ElectroSpecter has a DKC3 guide that has "all" of the BC (At least all according to the book...) but I have found some that aren't listed there. ES went through all the coins in the game to see which ones that costs less frames to take and we have a list now with the coins that we need, hopefully that list won't be changed too much... Here's the list of the coins and how many frames (All aren't correct, but still) you lose to take them. I'm not sure that all coins are included, but most of them.

Thanks, that a great list, but it differs from mine. After i compared it, i get the following: I didnt found: -One in Skidda's Row -Squeals on Whells -Krac-Shot Kroc (the 2 on beggining) I found and he not: -One in Riverside Race (after the first coin, drop on water, and stay close to the left wall), but its too much out of way. -Low-G Labyrinth (After the first row of red bees, jump to the left before drop). That was one of my route to 55-before-K3 -Rocket Barrel Ride (out of way too) -Tracker Barrel Trek (just on the start, over the barrel, before the big dudes) -6 (total) on Krevice Keepers. I couldn't relate his finds with mines, so a full list is there: 1) After the two first barrels, roll to right and get the coin (out of way) 2) Below first bonus, throw Kiddy on ground (slow) 3) Near Koin. Throw the partner in the clear spot (slow) 4) After second bonus, go up, then go down by the bee rope, and when you is going to climb the rope, jump to left (was on my list to-do) 5) after coin 4, jump on barrel, jump the TNT guy and drop before the first bee. Throw Kiddy on ground (MUCH slow) 6) On the final flag. Throw Kiddy (slow) -Barrel Drop Bounce (out of way a lot. Get Parry, pass the first bee, and jump left to hit a fat bird) Thats my list. I hope this could help in some way.

Many of those, not all however, did I find during my playthrough of the game to find the coins. But I didn't bother to mention them for Specter as they were all bad... I'm going to test those coins to see how much time we'll lose to take them. Or are some 0 frames lost?

None of then are 0 frames lost, and as i said, my strategy was get 55 after K3 (to go back only one time), so i was forced to get some coins out-of-way. If you plan to get the banana birds with the gyrocoptar, then you have 15 full stages more than me to get the same amount of coins, which means that most of my not-so-good coins are forbbidden to you. Anyway, good luck and i hope to see a great job.
