I'm working on this game at the moment and it seems a good game to TAS. Quick stages, quick bosses, bonus stages to show-off and requires somewhat planning to make it through quickly. My first attempt finished at 8:09 and it can be improved by 10-20 seconds by various strategies. The game has a nasty habit to randomize the enemies appearing in the stages.. so it's always different every playtime. Bonus stages are random also. Here's a sample through stage 1 and 2 all the way to stage 3 boss when I die. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2027/Hammerin%27%20Harry%20%28E%29%20%5B%21%5D.fcm *changed the file*

Perhaps you could upload it to DeHacked's Microupload, here: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php

New version. it's almost up to boss and then I screw up. and I dunno how I can resume it let's say 5 seconds ago. Always when I try to resume it starts to record from that point, not from the last video. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2034/Hammerin%27%20Harry%20%28E%29%20%5B%21%5D.fcm

I had some time to kill today, and I wanted to take a short break from Darkwing Duck, which is my main project right now, so I played around a little with this game. I made a WIP that beats the first two levels. It can probably be improved a little, but I wanted to wait with frame perfecting it until I knew if it's a good game choise or not. Here's the WIP. NOTE: I used the japanese version of the game, called "Daiku no gen san", since it runs on NTSC speed. There is no USA version of this game. What do you think? Is it a bad game choise? Is the game itself okay, but my run is bad? ;) Please tell me what you think.

Quite an interesting game. It has got lots of enemies to kill, and they don't take any time to kill if you're jumping, which is a big plus. Damage boosting seems to be possible too, so I think this would make a great TAS.
My published movies [03:45:05] <Naohiro19> Soulrivers: ... [03:45:19] <Soulrivers> ? [03:46:35] <Naohiro19> <Soulrivers> No! <Naohiro19> So? <Soulrivers> Yes! [03:46:48] <Naohiro19> joke

Well, actually they do... It wastes about 2 frames each time you jump. Thanks for the feedback. :)

Well, I've been toying around with this game, and I discovered a little trick. If you don't kill some enemies, the game doesn't spawn some that come up ahead. This could save some time off the published run. Here is a little test of this thing, nowhere near optimized. (3 frames faster then published run, omg) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/337622932/gensan.fm2 I intend to do an optimized version later, as this game is pretty fun to TAS once you learn how it functions.

Thanks for those RAM addresses. I redid level 1 and shaved 3 frames off my last WIP. That means 6 frames have been saved off the current run. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/211086232/HammerinHarry.fm2 I'm still too lazy to do the boss. Maybe tonight.
