I'll test it some. I don't think so, but you never know with this game.

No, immediate upward CWJ is not possible after a door transition. You need at least one frame of "warm up" to make it work (the release frame), but it gets cancelled during a door transition, so a CWJ is only possible on the 2nd frame there. This however makes catching the wall impossible unless you slow down your jump momentum to a minimum, which in the end will surely result in a bigger time loss than the CWJ would save.

It works, as I knew it would, but only at painfully slow speeds, the best I have got was 0.12288 and even that required a decent subpixel position. Here is the smv.

Oh well, was worth a shot. Now that Taco and Kriole are working on their RBO I promised to try to think something up if I can, so I'll keep the ideas coming. :)

I've been looking at how Kriole did dual CWJ's, and I still don't know how to do it. but,
    1) he had speed booster blue suit 2) he was doing it in sandfalls 3) he was going right 4) he did his first CWJ without releaseing forward 5) he didn't hold dash/run/whatever after his first CWJ
and thats it (I think). I've tried 3 + 4 + 5 at the same time but that didn't work. but, I will contuine looking into it.

Taco states that it was due to the Screw Attack.

The reason he could do multiple CWJs was the Screw Attack. All other things (blue suit, room conditions etc) are irrelevant for this tech. For some reason your momentum won't get cancelled as it should be when you release the jump button after the 1st CWJ, if you have it equipped. EDIT: Simu post.

No, since you have spacejump at that point I can't possible think of any place multiple CWJ's would help.

so it would olny be useful in a hack where you have SA but not SJ (like Gravy).

I just finished a music video for my new any% run. It plays the entire zebes segment. All items, doors, and elevators have been magnificently removed. Run time is 22:22. The synchronization of the final song with the final mother brain battle is absolutely scary, almost like it was meant to be. click here if interested

Quoted for truth. The elevator and door sequences are a little jarring, but I completely understand why they were omitted. If it were me, I would have just sped them up rather than killing off a fundamental law of film direction for the sake of keeping things moving. That's my only complaint, though. The music jives really well with the action, and the use of Metallica - Hero of the Day made me laugh. :p

lols on you for using hero of the day :P Anyway I liked it, the music timing for the last MB battle was just so lucky, and awesome. The big drawback of the movie is not being 60fps, but I can't make a 60fps movie myself so I should not complain :)

That's because he used a lua script that makes the game fastforward automatically on those parts.

1. bomfunk mc's - freestyler > Used this in another vid, but decided to include it again because I actually don't have item boxes and door transistions in this one. Song is fast paced, strong opener I think. 2. Rammstein - Rosenrot > One of my favorite rammstein songs. The tempo matches up nicely with the Torizo statue walk :) 3. Metallica - Hero of the day > Namesake, and very good song IMO. 4. adagio for strings remix > Anyone ever seen platoon? Good movie, song reminds me of when Willem Dafoe gets owned. 5. Craig Armstrong - Hanging/Escape > What are the odds that the song would have the word "escape" in it. It's an "epic type" movie trailer kinda song. I wanted to encode it at 60fps, but the only option was 30. Using 30 led to the Samus sprite disappearing every time she got hit. I settled with 25 frames per second to compensate.

at 2:15, I thought you could use the go-through-ceiling trick there. maybe not i guess any future any%s won't have too many differences. HOPEFULLY FALSE, for what shall i do if SM TASs are no(t much) more? [watch 100%s, of course!]

YouTube has a 10-minute limit. Plus there may be "copyright owners" that want to leave their bullshit on videos they would come across. Hey that's what they did my 6-glitch Dave Mirra game a while back. YouTube is nothing, I recommend MegaVideo better.

superjupi: Thanks for the comments :) Like cpadolf said, I made a little lua script to fast forward over the cutscenes. If you are interested here is the code I wrote up
while true do

	istop = memory.readbyte(0x7E0009)
	dstop = memory.readbyte(0x7E05F5)
	estop = memory.readbyte(0x7E0E18)

-- Items, Doors, Elevators

	if istop+dstop+estop > 0 then
	snes9x.speedmode("turbo")
else
	if istop+dstop+estop < 1 then
	snes9x.speedmode("normal")
end
end
	snes9x.frameadvance()
end
Doesn't work well for Ceres though. I need to get a different address for the item acquisition. Since the address is greater than 0 for the entire duration of ceres, the whole thing is fast forwarded through. I will be uploading the video to megavideo. I will post a link when it is finished.

What an excellent idea! I think I'll tweak that a bit to bring the speed down for personal usage.

All I can say is Freestyler rocks. Awesome video Hero. To elaborate, I get some kind of tiny orgasms with the chorus and Phantoon fight combined.
