It's awesome, but unfortunately, it won't work without High Jump, so it would likely be of no use in the realtime any%, any possible low% or NBMB. :\ 100%, ingame any% and RBO would benefit from it, though.

Heh, really awesome save there. That might be the difference between a 100% 00:37 and 00:36 in end.

Damn, yet another spoiler... I knew about this jump long time ago already, and planned to use it in my RBO and any% (ingame-oriented with HJ-Boots) runs. This trick is actually based on the very same technique that is used in the Temporary Blue Suit glitch I posted a while back, that allows to get the Maridia mainstreet Missile without the Gravity Suit for example. Great job to find this tech yourself, evilchen. :-) Oh and to save your time, there is no need to try doing this jump without HJ-Boots. It's unfortunately impossible without them because the jump is just not high enough that way, no matter what you do. :-(

STOP DOING THIS. This is the price you pay for keeping things to yourself. Quit trying to steal people's thunder.

Clarification to Saturn: There is nothing wrong with knowing things. Just stop the bragging (even if you don't mean to brag) or one-upping others, more than one person has expressed that it is annoying! This is a warning. (Now, please continue with the on-topic discussion and ignore this incident.)

Well, the reason it doesn't seem likely is that you need to travel over 15 pixels of vertical distance by the time your jumping strength is exhausted, and that's in about the best case. Even completely ignoring the stall by the ceiling (hypothetically), you won't be able to reach the ledge without walljumping, which is out of question.

That's still whole three runs. It's a good find, anyway. :)

though it is not likely to work at such a high speed, an upward CWJ might allow the non-high-jump jump to reach the ceiling.

Yeah, the overall movement speed is more than 8 ppf, which renders CWJ physically impossible. Not to mention that the low ceiling would likely disallow the walljump to make up for the lack of jumping strength (since its strength is less than that of a normal jump), and the fact that it won't allow for the unmorph to keep the blue suit intact.

I'm new to these forums, and pretty new to TASing (done a few stars from sm64) Could someone explain to me the meaning of 100%, and%, in game any% that have been used in this topic Thanks Duksandfish

100% means completing the game while collecting all items. any% means that you finish the game as fast as possible by avoiding items. In game any% is somewhat unique to this game. There are a few glitches that allow the in-game timer to pause. So that version competes the game with the least in game time on the timer, but not necessarily in the least real time.

100% refers to the amount of items collected. There are 100 items in this game. any% means that the game is played as fast as possible without regards to the amount of items collected. Certain glitches can be used to make the game even shorter, which might be classified as a glitched any% run. low% is classified as completing the game with as few items as possible. 14% is the lowest possible without major glitch usage.

Crateria has been improved once again, this time before the OTES. The moozooh jump was obsoleted with the trick that Hero was kind enough to show us earlier (the powerrangers were unfortunately already well aware of that trick ;/). moozooh jump obsoletion It is due to the momentum trick (this seriously need a handy name) that is applied to reach the door faster. 2 frames saved.

I didn't realize a blue suit glitch would be another flaw in this game! Great work, contributors!

Now that the Blue Suit Jump trick is out, I might as well share another serious timesaver you can get with it. Only applicable in a 100% run though, so don't miss it Hero and Cpadolf: Snail Shortcut Saves more than 1,5 seconds right there (compared to JXQ's 100% v2 run).

Saturn, that's pretty old news actually. Catnap was the first to post of this tech on his website about a year ago. I consequently posted his smv on this forum a while ago. Not only that, but I applied the same trick to go downward, which saved time by not going all the way around (to get to the bottom).
