Wait, wait, what the hell? What's the point of not posting WIPs? If you don't want to spoil the run for yourself, don't click the damn link; there's no need to set up a separate system for those who want to watch the WIPs. It's a completely unnecessary inconvenience for those who want to stay updated.

Spacecow's right, I'm an idiot. If you don't want to watch, don't click. Sorry for wasting half a page!

Alrighty. Warning - there's an update here - don't spoil it for yourself if you don't want to! Wheeeeeeeeeee bleep 65% collection. The reason I posted is to get ideas about what I could possibly do for the next section, where I wait for the "special" robot to slow its way through the wall just before the spring ball. Any ideas? Also, questions/comments welcome. Edit: The Draygon fight is my favorite part. Watching Draygon's life in memory was a huge help to this fight. The shinespark can be used to inflict much more damage than I thought (The shinespark in this battle hits Draygon for the equivalent of 3 Super Missles).

Is 100% going to include rescuing the critters during the escape? It will take extra time, and it doesn't count toward the game's % counter, but if your goal is to leave nothing behind, then animals should count. (Call it 101% if you like.)

No, those retarded animals can burn for all I care. (I'm so nice) I'm just going for the screen at the end to say "your rate for collecting items is 100%", and for fastest time within that goal.

But I heard they were important for later game continuity!

This is true. If you don't go to that room and make that pixel move across the screen, Fusion won't make sense.

Fusion doesn't make sense anyway. They will burn.

Maybe they escape anyway, just travelling off in another direction? On topic: when you grab the first super missile in Maridia, wouldn't it be faster to use a regular bomb? You could drop a power bomb first and then a regular bomb for the climb.

Awesome run, especially the Draygon fight! You seem to work on this around 20 hours a day otherwise I just can't explain how you can progress that fast man. :-) About the special robot pasage: I can't think of any other way to pass here except waiting for it, without X-Ray anyway. About my RBO progress: I'm finally in lower Norfair in the serious recording and have a ton of work ahead to calculate the optimal way because my energy is so damn close and most likely I will be forced to use the Crystal Flash before even entering Ridleys room which wasn't planned like that because I lose alot of Energy in the waiting time before he appears and don't do 400 HP damage to him from my Crystal Power-Bomb. After all the mindbreaking and countless lower norfair testings I also feel a bit sick of TAS'ing this game right now and need a small break to relax. I will continue it very soon again, just give me time.

As far as I know the power bomb lifts you up exactly same fast as a regular bomb and JXQ laid it down in the earliest possible frame, so I don't think this can be any faster. He should confirm that though.

JXQ is an absolute beast when it comes to speedrunning. We all knew this even before he started this run, and it's just becoming clearer and clearer :)

Fredrik: The bombs lift Samus at the same rate, etc., but compared to Teri's run, which uses this trick, I'm six frames slower due to a bit more lag. Frown. It also could be due to some random fadeout differences (which occasionally happens in this game). Saturn: Thank you! I actually work on this run around an average of four hours a day. Grambo: Fabian was being sarcastic in his first post. Fabian: LOL I'm going to quote your first reply on my page.

Hey guys, I'm planning to give the any% TAS a go. I currently have lots of planning and testing to do before I start working on it seriously, so don't expect a WIP in a while. :P

Well I just started working on Ceres to get used to the game for TASing and currently I am tied with JXQ for frames in the first room in Ceres. Hopefully I'll have an escape for you guys in a couple days. Depends how well the escape will go.

OMG, that's too good to be true. Finally, it seems we'll have a full set of new standard SM videos here. Thank you and good luck!
