I was gonna wait till the first missiles, but screw it. Heres the first WIP at the Morph Ball. I'm currently 330 frames faster than Teri's run. The next WIPs will be at the Supers then Kraid. Edit: For the people who watch with input on, pay attention to the ship landing. :P

I do it now in near every movie. Most its useless. But sometimes its funny to see, that some Players just push the buttons at a time where they can't do anything. I think in one other movie from Super Metroid or maybe a GBA Metroid. I see some button pressing to the music in a part where you can do anything else and where the character don't move. So you can miss something, when not watch the input in some movies. ;-)

I think the other Super Metroid runs should get updated as well, at least before someone (I could consider this man a hero) will try to remake this run from scratch.

i was comparing the runs 100% v1-JXQ and v4-Terimakasih to see what differents they had, it occured that JXQ versioen constantly gained time on the and the Terimakasih version without any real improvments i could see. i continued to compare a little more and after a while i got the feeling that JXQ was faster no mather what section it was, even on stages they couldn't affect, like traveling downward and upward the "elevator", if feels like it have less frames to make a visual impression of a faster run even though its not since its speedup. i can be wrong but its the impression i got ^^ i compared situations where they only ran and it was faster there too.

The main movement speedup comes from this. Dunno about the elevators though.

I notice that in all Super Metroid runs on the site, Samus gets three or more energy tanks. Is this only so that she can do her various speed boost tricks and otherwise take damage to save time? In other words, will the giant Metroid and Mother Brain's energy draining attacks kill you if you have less than three energy tanks?

I can't remember if I asked before, but is it power to do a crystal flash to save you even if you have lesser than 3 energy tanks?

With only two energy tanks you will have 299 points of energy. MB's attack takes exactly 300 points of energy, and is uninterruptible, so you don't have the ability to do crystal flash in the middle of it.

Does the crystal flash stop time? I suppose triggering it before the beam hits wouldn't do anything?

Thats interesting. I don't think the crystal flash would stop the damage but it could still heal you during the damage of mother beam so you could probably survive it even with 2 tanks (haven't tested though). A CF would require many Ammo items though so it's definitely not worth to use in a speedrun.

Mother Brain's hyper beam also drains you of all your ammo, so no crystal flash once it's started.

Mother Brain's attack will interrupt the crystal flash. You must have a minimum of 301 energy all at once in order to survive MB's attack. I've tried a lot of crazy stuff against MB's attack, *nothing* does any good.

If anyone is interested, I've tried to make a 100% walkthrough of Metroid Limit. The problem is, I cannot perform a trick that is required to get all the items. In maridia after getting the plasma beam there is a maze mostly comprised of speed blocks. Here you are supposed to be able to get a blue suit by shinesparking into a certain corridor (according to the walkthrough at least) but I just can't do it. Since there has been no progress in my demonstration run in a month or so, I thought I'd share the movie so far with you. Up to the speed block maze. I must warn you: The movie is only a walkthrough. It is not meant to be frame precise or even just inhumanly accurate. The movie was made mostly for my own entertainment. Also, the bosses are not played with speed in mind. I played some of the bosses in real time and with some I used a little slowdown. I tried to kill Phantoon in one round but due to the shape of the floor, I failed. I might have been able to kill it in two rounds but I just couldn't be bothered and I played the rest of the battle in real time. If anyone knows how to make the blue suit thingie work, please tell me so I can finish my movie. EDIT: Oh, and I'm not even sure if the movie works with anyone but me since I've never tried. Also I've played the game with a ROM that has a bad checksum (but I'm not sure if that can be avoided with this hack).

I didn't have problems with blue suit, yet I've heard of that problem. If you shinespark and get after that into an elevator, you MUST get blue suit, but I'm not sure if you must take that path after plasma. See here for further help. Oh and good work for the walkthrough :)

Thanks for replying, Qlex. I took your ZSnes movie from that thread and tried the blue suit when the movie ended and it worked instantly. I'm afraid it might be impossible to do in Snes9x because clearly I'm not the one doing anything wrong.

hello, Mr.Kyrsimys. your walkthrough looks good, so I want you to continue it. :) Limit author is Japanese, and I have once had a talk with him about this problem. Many people couldn't make blue suit for it, and there is no basic solution. But fortunately, it can be avoided by using other way. That is using the saveroom near the corridor and restart game. If you restart game, you can make blue suit normaly. I don't know the reson. Another way is playing with ZSNES. But I think it doesn't suit your purpose. So I suggest that you go to saveroom and suspend recording the movie and restart the game and start recording again. by the way, why you use grappling beam to Holtz? It seems to have an effect of paralysis, isnt it? and does it work in the original game?
