Err, there are 100 episodes, each composed of 5 levels. What crappy trial version were you playing?

maybe the one behind the link that was posted in this thread? (duh!) if you have a link to a more recent version in flash format (the linux binary on their homepage won't work for me), feel free to post it.

That should teach you to use ebaumsworld, then. I'm afraid that, if the Linux and Windows versions are too different, I can't supply you with a copy. I'm saving you a lot of hassle, though: I've had the game for 2 years and I haven't been able to beat half of it.

How could anyone not include N? http://media.ebaumsworld.com/swf/n-game.swf
It took me until today (two weeks) to finish all 30 stages. I feel tricked for not getting any kind of reward for that, but it's still a nice game. Definetly a good choice for TASing, if there'd ever be TASable flash games.
So I hate to be the noob who on his first post necros a 3 year old thread, but I have been lurking for a while and I think this is a waste of a post. I was wondering if someone could direct me to a place where I could learn how to TAS a flash game like n. I am familiar with FBF and how the replay data from n works in the demos. I have also learned how to hex demos together directly in the code, but this takes a lot of time because you can only deal with code. I was wondering if there is a program that lets you TAS Flash games like n. The game has built in FBF, but if you screw up in the run you have to start all over again or move to code building. If there were a away to apply savestates and rerecording to the game that would make things much easier. Also I have read from the posts on the page previous to this one, you guys do not want flash TASs submitted here and that is not my intention. I am also a member on a forums for the n community. It is where all of the highscorers from n gather. I am not looking to cheat the legitimate real time highscore of n either. Although many hackers and cheats have in the past. tl;dr: Looking for an emulator/program for TASing flash games. Thanks, ~TRO

There's currently none I know of, but I'm working on a program that will (if ever completed) make it possible. I'm doing this in my free time, which equals to zero at the moment due to studies. Currently the program only runs custom-built examples and will either crash or display a blank screen when trying to open a real-world SWF file. More details can be found here:http://people.inf.elte.hu/gyorokp/download/freesf/freesf.html.

There are some fairly long games flash that would be worth to be TASed, VVVVVV comes to mind.

VVVVVV is fairly easy to optimize, since IIRC there's no acceleration. I wouldn't be surprised if unassisted runs are within a second or two of the theoretical max speed.

The only one I can think of is Mr. Fox.

There is both acceleration and deceleration in VVVVVV, and it's important to consider it to bypass even the first moving enemies of the game. There are some unintuitive edge mechanics too (I believe pressing away from an edge when edge-cutting can teleport you 1 pixel "downwards" and forward ; pressing towards the ledge can make you grab the ledge if you would very narrowly miss it). Also there's a route to think of, and there are multiple possible strategies for each room (or you can bypass them..) I'd love to see a TAS of this game.

http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15178 I made this since scahfy found it and this could be a new thing. My game: A Koopa's Revenge (Requires mouse, no internet) (We just have to wait until mouse support becames available in Hourglass...) Link: http://flash.videojuegos.com/swf628/akoopasrevenge.swf (Please notice that there are other versions of this game.)

(Make sure to tag games you suggest as whether they need mouse or not, and as whether they need an internet connection or not.)

Adding to list: Xeno Tactic (turret defense game), requires mouse, no internet connection, has music & saves level completion status. http://www.andkon.com/arcade/missiledefender/xenotactic13/ Doesn't work in Gnash 0.8.11dev ("UNIMPLEMENTED: Jump outside DoAction tag requested") Adding to list: Dwarven Complete / Lineage (point & click adventure), requires mouse, no internet, has music & saves equipment. http://jayisgames.com/games/dwarf-complete/ (Works in Gnash 0.8.11dev) Technically you could probably add in Hourglass some Flash Projector (the standalone Flash player) specific features to make Flash games better TASable.

Say what now? Hourglass is a debugger DLL that's injected into applications (and currently only win32 applications). If the flash game is compiled into an .exe (which means it's already bundled with a flash projector), then the idea is unnecessary. If the flash game is an .swf file, it needs a flash player, it's not native Win32 packaged machine code, and putting a wrapper inside Hourglass for Flash games would be a massive project, not to mention that it would make Hourglass stray far from it's original purpose.

If a game posted here is TASable, I'll add it to the list.

I want to try TASing Too Many Ninjas! http://www.foddy.net/Ninjas.html In-game it does not require a single mouse press. It doesn't even require pressing the mouse to restart after dying. But to start the game for the first time you need to click once. Arrgh! :)

I'm saying Hourglass could have features that improve the TASability of Flash projector as a specific program. Flash projector itself runs .swf files. I'm not saying Hourgass should become a flash player itself.

Using the Tab key is an alternative to using the mouse, if the items are selectable with the Tab key.

Yeah, that would open a lot more possibilities if Gnash let you "tab" between input objects like Flash does. It's an open source project, so if anyone has the inclination, they could try adding the functionality.

Hourglass can currently run Gnash on Windows XP, support for the official Flash Projector, and bundled Flash will come. Currently though there are bigger issues to deal with for me, but if you want to attempt it yourself, check out the Hourglass section.
