Hey all, I need some opinions on whether this game would make a good TAS. I've run through the first level (with a kickass in-game time of just over 23 seconds), but I'm not sure if anyone else would want to watch (think it's fun to see perfect reflexes, but I know others will probably be bored with it). Here's a link for the .vbm, so let me know if you think I should go on with the rest of the levels (and try to clean up the first one, I was still getting the details down). Thanks for any ideas and input! http://www.sendspace.com/file/3jiexf

I remember playing this game a couple of years back and thought the GBA version was boring to play... ---After watching the movie through--- It seems like It could be an interesting watch - seeing someone get perfect headshots.

Alright, here's an updated vbm, which completes the first three levels with an ingame time of 1 minute and 24 seconds, and has a total movie time of around 2 and a half minutes. I know for sure the first, and probably the third level can be further optimized, but I'm almost positive the second level is nearly perfect. I'll still complete the movie, if only for my own entertainment, but let me know if you guys think this (or a polished rerun) is entertaining enough to be considered for publication. http://www.sendspace.com/file/t71cz7

I have a quick question. I've finished up my run (and I'm going to redo it to shave a ton of time off poorly planned routes and to make it look a little more like a, um, drunk sniper), but I need to know when to end the movie. I take my last shot and there are a few cutscenes, then it says game over, then I'm prompted to enter my initials for the highscore list. Should I end the movie after the last shot or after I've entered my initials?

If I am not wrong, the standard is to end input when you have finally bypassed the last message box etc, and the game can reach the THE END screen without the viewer pressing anything extra. If it takes entering your initials before the game finally shows the THE END screen, then do it... EDIT: I just watched the WIP, and I think it's pretty nice... but just that the delay between shots irritate me :( One more thing, I was hoping to see some variations to the perfect play, ever tried using B all the time to kill, ie without zooming in. That would be o.0 for the viewer... though don't over use it; use it sparingly as a I really can pwn without looking like of move. If it becomes more polish, I would vote a YES easily. It really makes a hard game look easy

Given the recent publication of a second TAS for Arcade Mode (which obsoletes the OP's movie), I'd like to ask if anybody's looked at the Advanced Story Mode which is unlocked by clearing Arcade Mode. I'm not exactly good or efficient at TAS'ing games (hell, I still have trouble pulling off a no-damage run), but here's my thoughts, level by level, for Advanced Story: 1: not a problem, just make sure you get the headshot on the boss on screen 3. 2: Number of cruise missile trucks is 8. This is the first of two time-eating stages 3-A: Good news is that the timer stops when the alarm goes off until you regain control. the bad news is the alarm takes a few seconds and (AFAIK) is unavoidable. You'll use one of the 16 cruise missiles here, leaving 15 for 3-B. 3-B: 15 shots to work with, only 3 are required. You have to seriously lead your targets on this one or catch them right as they start turning. 4: First off: **** Shark. Two hits are needed to kill Shark off, but only one is needed to finish this stage. If Shark is not killed now (a parachute hit counts as perfect, IIRC), he will appear in stage 5 5: The other time-eating stage, this time with virtually nothing to do even if you let Shark live in the previous stage. The number of shots you need is 3 minus the number of shots you used in the previous stage (assuming perfect accuracy). The last shot will go to the target's head. The other shot, if applicable, goes straight to our friend Shark.
