I don't know if this is old news, so I apologize in advance if it is so. Anyway, here are the GameShark codes to unlock the Arwing in The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64. Input the codes, start a new game, exit Link's house and voila! The other versions should work too.

yes it is legit, I've done it myself. In fact this is old news, it was discovered half a year ago.

as legit as a gameshark code can be. the arwings were put into the game, they just aren't spawned anywhere, unless you use the gs codes.

Watch the ESRB recall the rating because there are violent spaceships inside the game that are accessible by using a third party device.

They tested the possibility of basing the Starfox engine off of the Zelda engine. Then they didn't delete the work they had done. I'd say it makes perfect sense. A lot less development is required if you base one engine off of another. It just so happens that it wound up left over in the code.

With ROM hacking tools like Zelda Edit available, I wonder how long it'll be before we see an OoT hack with Arwings in some areas.

Wasn't the Zelda engine itself based on another engine, that of Mario 64? Or am I mistaken? And to that end, what kinda crazy crap might be left over in Mario 64?
