Ever thought you could beat a Bust-A-Move level in less than 3 seconds? Now you know. A pretty straightforward game, this will be my next project. Level 3 is incomplete because of strategy issues which I hope can be resolved by the lovely people on this site. Here's my WIP so far. I have high hopes for this game being my first published submission.

Really nice, lot of potential here. Have you tried what effect brief pauses have on the color of the next few marbles? A little luck manipulation would move things along nicely.

First two levels have been redone, 2.55 on the first and 2.50 on the second. Here's a WIP. To answer your question: this game has a minimum amount of balls needed to complete it and then it goes randomly. So rapid-pausing won't work. EDIT: Working on the next two levels. Level 4's as 4.93 but the third level took almost 25 seconds. I seriously need some strat help.

I cant find a good way to set up controls to try it for myself, so you might be on your own. Really like the first two levels though.

I think it's time to use Nitsuja's Virtual Controller.

I'm changing to the Puzzle Mode for maximum score and time to make it more similar to the Tetrisphere run. It's gone great so far, 3 million after what, three levels?

Found a great level map text file, but still no strategy on how to beat Level 5 quickly. Any takers?

Let's talk level endings for a second. The level map is U V W ? X Y Z \ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ / O P Q R S T \ /\ /\ /\ /\ / J K L M N \ /\ /\ /\ / F G H I \ /\ /\ / C D E \ /\ / A B and I think we should decide which ending and the path to said ending is the fastest. Currently my test WIP is aiming for the king ending (? symbol) going along the lines of ADHMR?. There is probably a faster way to get the "king" ending and I might do all the different endings with various TAS's just for fun. Anyway, for now I want to see which ending is fastest. EDIT: I'm sticking with the King ending for my test run, but I'm not sure it's the fastest.

I need someone who knows this game well to help me. Or maybe there's some kind of programming error which allows your ball to pass through everything and into the back row?

I'm switching modes yet again! This time I'm going to access the hardest difficulty level, Another World, via a cheat. As always, help would be appreciated on routes, strategies etc.

I'm sorry that not a lot of people are posting to help out; I would, but I've never even heard the game before, let alone played it. If you get a strong WIP I'll download the ROM, just to see how you're doing.

To be honest, I was suprised there was a N64 version of this game. I played it a lot, but my experiance is almost exclusivly the arcade version. That said, I do decently well playing in real time, but I dont have the knowladge about how the game itself works enough to be helpful in a run. The whole key to this run will be figuring out exactly how to manipulate what colors you get. Im not sure to what extent its set, and im not sure how its affected by what colors are still on the board. What I can tell you is that once a color is eliminated, as long as your "next" isnt that color, you will never get another of that color. This is true at all times, but I bet you already knew that.

Well, while we figure out how to manipulate colours, let's try and see the minimum balls we need to beat each level on Another World. Let's start with the first level: I'm thinking red, blue, green, blue, yellow, yellow, green, red, blue x8, green, green, red, red. This is a very weak strat, and I definitely would appreciate some suggestions improving it. I think optimizing the clear-all bubble would be best, but which colour should I use it with? EDIT: Using blue for the clear-all might make life a lot easier.

oh, looking at that picture made me realize what game it is. yeah, strategy wise I can't offer anything, but I'll watch WIPs to determine entertainment value and such. Do you think you'll have a WIP soon, or do you need to first figure out the strategy for room 1?

And why did you have to post basically the same thing on two threads?

Zurreco! Quick, this fusion can't last much longer! We'll have to resort to the butt grab attack!
