Astynax, Contra 3, Milon's Castle, etc...these latest vids don't play. And I don't mean they say I have the wrong codec, they literally crash WMP saying I can debug or terminate. I have WMP 9 on XP. Oh, and the error it gives is "integer division by 0(zero)". Anyone have some pointers on how I can fix this? I downloaded an avi fixer but when it is done fixing the same problem occurs.

This problem has come up quite a few times before and the solution has been to get the latest XVID codec. Here's a thread where Phil talks about it: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=234 And, if you're doubting it'll work, my WMP crashed for certain movies until I installed the latest version of XVID.

I have exactly the same problems with the videos. I have uninstalled xvid and installed the latest build from Koepi (XviD-1.0.1-05062004), but the codec still crashes with those videos. Then I tried compiling the codec from XviD - CVS, but my Visual Studio 2003 doesn't seem to like the code (which was written for VC6) and I'm not *that* good in C to fix those problems. Please, Phil (I see the start-screen of the movies just before the crash, where it says "Encoded by Phil"), what version of DivX have you encoded the files with? Many thanks Philip

ok. I've fixed it by installing ffdshow (after uninstalling XVid, of course) which comes with a (slightly outdated) XVid-Codec. That's fine form me. Thanks anyway. Philip
