mtvf1 i think you're talkin about the glitch that also happens on mmbn TAS,this is a little different.I just jacked out on the undernet and planetmanv2 normally appeared where it should now,i haven't seen the V3 version though, only bass deluxe.
After beat planetmanV2, jack out again, and the planetmanV3 should appear.

Don't know where else to post but playing mmbn4: i used a cheat to get the final 100% mark(the PA one)but didn't save for fear of corrupting the savefile.Duo SP did appear with the complete Pa library but i didn't get the special ending,as the savefile didn't have the PA mark on (the actual savefile doesn't have all PAs,i collected them with the cheat to face duo sp) I tested both european and american BM RS for this and it occurs both ways. By the way, there are a few games to 100%without multiplayer: mmbn1,4,5,6 mmbn2 and 3 are the ones which need exclusive chips through multiplayer

MMBN6:you can reach bass as soon as you get into green area 2,though you probably won't have the weapons to kill it

I'm just messing around with causal plays of BN2 and 3 at the moment, but does anyone have the memory locations (or at least values to look for) for tracking style change progress? E: I've got a lead in Combined Wram 0x2d60 through 0x2d70, but I got a rewind-induced crash before I could discern if I was barking up the wrong tree or not. Got a bizarrely-lucky-for-me virus battle out of it that I can use to really pin down Guts and Custom points in battle and rank growth post-battle. Too bad a new game is really hard to get Team and Shield points/ranks for.

#3837: mtvf1's GBA Mega Man Battle Network 2 in 1:38:35.28 has some details on folder locations (and more importantly for me, style counter locations) but I'm still quite a n00b when it comes to mapping gestalted addresses to domained addresses (that is to say, VBA style to BizHawk style). Which domain is 0x0200xxxx?

For some reason, the value of Pi is six bytes at IWRAM 0x1200. It looks like the address values correspond specifically to EWRAM. If nothing else the RNG is four bytes at EWRAM 0x9080

you can try looking at the action replay codes that mess with that part of the game i'd like to note that MMBN2's hard mode changes all enemies stats except for BassDX

I think you must watch this nico's tas. he wait too long time at the beginning for the best luck. Did you test the save and reset? If it still havn't changed anything, I think some data be written into the save file when pressing the start. Link to video

yes,i did reset, unfortunately it never changed, thanks for the confirmation and video too. would be interesting if we had the rng adress for that specific part https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ski36uur91wssyj/AADfpqDQ4ajAQM2DYwFdgMOsa?dl=0 resources for researching the games, maybe there's more at the battle network speedrunning server on discord

Thanks for post it. It's seemed he didn't know how to go through the NPC, he just turn around them. When in viruses battle, he didn't press pause for luck manipulation like other mmbn5 or 6 tas. He didn't wait for long time at info like nico's did. I'm not sure he really got the best RNG. Because he choose the red sun? Not blue moon like nico's. Which is the faster version? He didn't got Varsword, this chip is very useful. Maybe we should make a new thread to talk about mmbn4. If he can submit to tasvideos, I think it's worthy to publish. Edit: He should get a very important chip copydamage* at the very beginning.

https://www.twitch.tv/dalus_exe he finished routing and is running all chips/Bass%(basically 100% minus grinding for all upgrades) for MMBN1 The TAS of this category will possibly be even sub2h because of Chip Trader, contact him if you want to know more, he has his notes about the game in TeamBN discord https://www.speedrun.com/mmbn#All_Chips Current WR is 3h07m for All Chips! About ChipTrader: Muramasa and Anubis are available, but shadow, pharaoh and lifeaura aren't(175-7=162). Because of Area 14 requirements, there are a number of chips that have to be gotten in Area 13 battles. Area 14: You must win at least 10 chips in battle from enemies in Area 13. Virus available in this area: All Swordy,Beetank3,All Canodumb,Coldbear,All Mettaur,Rush,Spooky3 Chips available in this area: FireSwrd, AquaSwrd,BigBomb,PopUp,Invis3,IceCube,Recov10/30/50/80/120/150/200,3 Cannon,3 Waves,Sword All chips RTA choice:mole(very slow virus battle),BigBomb,AquaSwrd,FireSwrd,Mcannon,Soniwave2,Invis3,rcv200,rcv150,IceCube(elecswrd used here for a faster fight than RTA) (162-10=152) but you already start with Cannon,Shotgun,Crossgun,Sword,WideSwrd,Steal,Rec10,Minibomb,Escape,X-Panel1 (152-10=142).

EXE 4 Blue Moon TAS, full video with game audio only. Link to video Also, brief thoughts on what I feel I could improve: Tutorial 2 could look cleaner, but is already fast. Tutorial 3 could potentially be faster if I countered the first Mettaur instead of the second, because it would attack sooner resulting in less down time. Collected a few chips that I never ended up using or foddering due to bad chip trader windows. Should try to pick up Airshot * in ACDC 1 for use in the Junkman fight. Pick up Tornado (and Boomer?) on the first trip to Town Area for use on the stereo fight and prelim gauntlet. Could have hit Shademan a few frames faster on some of the buster shots. Can probably pick up at least one of the chip trader chips I need while in Higsby's shop, since in a rewrite I'd have already edited the folder and will have 3-4 spare chips. Name entry is fun, but in a rewrite I would favor max speed and skip it. Slow Heel Navi fight. CopyDmg/Boomer? CopyDmg/WideSwrd? Prelim gauntlet could be much faster with a folder edit having been done. Ghost Navi fights could be faster with better stacking. With both LifeSwrd and Tornado I could do at least Normal Navi and Spoutman in one edit. Counting Sparkman code inputs to make sure I get the fastest code is a good idea. Stack Sparkman and Town 3 gauntlet in one edit? Maybe even RAEJDUK? Stacking ToyRobo for fast fights with one edit should be easy with the lotto chips. Plan and test lots of different routes for 50pts to see what is actually optimal. Skipping the 4pt fight and 1 other point is probably better than skipping rock paper scissors. Zenny route was very sloppy. Most efficient GMDs are in later areas, though at least 1000z in park is necessary. I should also look much harder for an Atk+10 GMD in Park Area to save menuing during the Duo folder edit. Junkman can be killed much faster with a * code chip, Areagrab and LifeSwrd.

i'm extremely surprised but i found a glitch reminiscent of other people's discoveries, if you mash A with autofire in airman in EXE2, you can bypass the clouds that push you backwards, it saves a lot of time not having to work your way around them i was actually interested in testing if you can slow down the clouds with mashing A like alpha comps in BN3, i also read you can slow down ghosts in BN2 castle dungeon, the one with protoman and knightman EDIT: tested the vampires and ghosts, they slow down a lot no changes in magnets or quickman explosions, i also tested the mayl HP out of bounds exclusive to EXE2, i didn't get any crash but eventually i stopped having encounters for a long period of time, literally minutes,it may be some kind of invisible boundary and one of the stroll got me warped to the net as the mayl HP warp normally does, just go OOBs, line up with the warp from the upright position and go in that direction
