Submission Text Full Submission Page
This is my second run of Mario 64 and by far the biggest difficulty I encountered was doing the run in a way that would seem new to most people, I personally think there is just enough justification to watch it over the previous submissions .Most of the time saved came from the over world route and execution, although generally there is small frame shaving improvments throughout the game which will most likely go unnoticed, since improvements were so difficult to find I actually save a lot of time through avoiding lag. I admit my run isn't perfect but there can't be that much improvement.
  • Aims for fastest time
  • abuses programming errors
  • takes damage to save time
  • manipulates luck
This movie improves on Rikku's previous submission by over 7 seconds, Most of the time saved came from not saving at any point since there is a brief period where the the select bar can move but you can't select and options. I also used a slightly different overworld route which saved time as well, but generally everything else is just frame shaving improvements.

DeHackEd: Apparently mupen64 has a movie termination bug. ZIP file replaced with a fixed version.

DeHackEd: Another ZIP replacement, due to changes to the final Bowser fight.

adelikat: Delayed by authors request (new technique).

adelikat: You sir, have been bested.

Uhh, no. The submission alone is documentation enough. We don't need the already busy encoders publishing movies just for the sake of publishing.

Just echoes the Sleepz Vs. Phil SMB2 debate. Why are Mario games always the subject of controversy? :P

I don't see why the other one should be promptly published, so you have time to obsolete it :)

I'm a bit surprised that AKA's run wasn't accepted sooner, it's almost as if the judges expected this new submission.

While this indeed is a fertile ground for conspiracy theories, Rikku's previous run wasn't accepted instantly as well, and it was published in three weeks after submitting. So nothing really surprising here. :)

The N64 judging is a lot slower since both me and adelikat who judge the majority of the movies have troublems with watching N64 games. The only time I can do it is when there's a YouTube or similar available.
