You mean you want to make two different movies? One as young link and another as Adult? You would start recording your first movie from 'power-on'. When you reach such a point as you want to start your second movie you need to stop recording, save state (for good measure), record new movie and then record from snapshot.

I thought Mupen didn't support recording from a snapshot (which would make it not possible at this point).

Nope, it does. In the window for recording a new movie there is the option to either record from power on or from snapshot.

It seems like two segments sounds like a SDA movie.

How can I make a snapshot so it begins recording from there? EDIT : No its not an SDA movie or a TAS movie, just an un-official run

Just pause it on the frame you want to begin recording on then start recording the movie. That's all it means by snapshot.

Yes, that should do it. But your second movie has to record from snapshot or the emulator will reset.

For some reason if I load a savestate while playing a movie in non-read-only mode it doesn't rerecord, instead, it plays back the movie input with the new savestate, resulting in desynch. Is that because I made the savestate without pressing "stop recording" first?

Recording: Recording → Shift + F1 → Game Play or Frame Advance → F1 ... more repeats. Recording end: Utilities -> Movie -> Stop Movie Recording

I've figured it out already, but thanks anyway. Never ever, ever, ever start a movie from a savestate that's not part of a movie that records from start.
